Benefit?

2 Cor.4:17-18 (Voice) “You see, the short-lived pains of this life are creating for us an eternal glory that does not compare to anything we know here. So we do not set our sights on the things we can see with our eyes… Instead, we focus on the things we cannot see, which live on and on.”

We were dead through our trespasses and our sins. We were dead; we were not bad people that were going to be made good people. We were dead and we were made alive. Read the rest of this entry

Love Unconditional

Eph.2:4-5 “But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) (emphasis added)

But GOD!

Caution!

Eph.2:1 (NRSV) “You were dead through the trespasses and sins.” (emphasis added).

James 4:17 (NRSV) “Anyone, then, who knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, commits sin.” Yesterday, we learned that to sin is to miss the mark. The best way I can explain transgression is this. Read the rest of this entry

The Mark

Eph.2:1-2 (Voice) “As for you, don’t you remember how you used to just exist? Corpses, dead in life, buried by transgressions, wandering the course of this perverse world. You were the offspring of the prince of the power of air—oh, how he owned you…”

Eph.1:13-14 (NRSV) “In him you also, when you had heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and had believed in him, were marked with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit; this is the pledge of our inheritance toward redemption as God’s own people, to the praise of his glory.” When you Read the rest of this entry
