Easter
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
When I was a little boy, my father bought me a bicycle. The bicycle changed my life totally. It released power to me at least as far as my mobility was concerned. All my mates did not have bicycles. I remember riding my bicycle and all the children on our street will run after me and it made me feel very powerful. It was so profound to me because for the first time in my life, I had power to move faster than Read the rest of this entry
Step Aside & Listen
“I will take my place at the watchtower. I will stand at my post and watch. I will watch and see what He says to me. I need to think about how I should respond to Him When He gets back to me with His answer” Hab.2:1[VOICE]
“We do not learn by experience. We learn from experience by reflecting” –Anonymous. This is so true. Things happen to us every day, if we learn by experience, everybody will be so smart. But most of the time, we are not even paying attention. We do not even take time out to reflect on the things that happen to us daily. A whole lot has happened in this year already. God is saying to you, Solitude! You need time Read the rest of this entry
Think & Thank
“Seven times every day I praise You because of Your right rulings. Those who love Your law have an abundance of peace, and nothing along their paths can cause them to stumble” Ps. 119:164-165 [Voice]
God’s instruction for us in this season is Re-Tune. We have seen some of the things that detune us. And we have learnt that the desired frequency, the pitch perfect tune is joy. This joy comes with righteousness and peace. So how do those of us that are out of tune re-tune? And how do those of us that Read the rest of this entry
Righteousness, Peace, & Joy!
“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost” Rom.14:17
Watch out for Anger, Hope Deferred, Greed, and Anxiety because they can put you out of tune.
#5. Life. The fifth thing that detunes us is actually life. We get out of tune by reason of use. Life just happens. You set your course at the beginning of the year but as days go by, life happens. A lot of people have New Year resolutions. In fact, some have Read the rest of this entry
His Space?
“I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread” Ps.37:25 [KJV]
God wants us to watch out for Anger, Hope Deferred and Greed because they detune us.
#4. Anxiety. Another thing that detunes us is anxiety. As the first quarter in the year comes to an end, a lot of people get anxious. And it because – I thought by now I Read the rest of this entry
Ask Gehazi
“Such is the fate of all who are greedy for money; it robs them of life” Prov.1:19.
Greed is very powerful. It blinds the sharpest Prophet and reduces hearing accuracy. Ask Gehazi. He could have gotten quadruple of Elijah’s anointing [double of Elisha’s anointing]. But what did he get? Leprosy – and it was because of greed. You will not get leprosy, in Jesus Name. The best definition of greed I have come across is this, “Greed is the assumption that everything that comes my way is for my Read the rest of this entry
Ask Balaam
“Such is the fate of all who are greedy for money; it robs them of life” Prov.1:19.
God wants us to pay attention to Anger and Hope Deferred because they detune us.
#3. Greed. Greed is a major de-tuner. Greed robs you of life. Greed, like anger and hope deferred, is an express way to a detuned life. Ask the prophet, Balaam. Balaam introduced himself as the one that sees a vision without closing his eyes. What a resume! He was so tuned, accurate and sharp that he did not need to close his eyes to pray, he just sees into the supernatural. But because of greed, Balaam became so Read the rest of this entry
Consider This
“And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God” 1 Sam.30:6 [KJV]
Why are you so angry? Yesterday, we saw how anger kept Moses from entering his destiny. Anger will not keep you from entering your Promised Land, in Jesus Name. But you still need to watch out for it. We need to examine and weigh what we get angry about. Why are you so angry? Why do you allow yourself to be so short fused? Someone said, that is how we are in our family; when we get angry, we Read the rest of this entry
Be Careful!
“Then the Lord told Moses, “Chisel out two stone tablets like the first ones. I will write on them the same words that were on the tablets you smashed… No one else may come with you…” Ex.34:1&3
Please read 2 Kings 3:10-16 – it is the story of three kings who found themselves in a mess. And one of them [Jehoshaphat] said to the king of Israel, “let us find Elisha, the Word of God is with him”. Elisha was a man that was anointed of God; a solid prophet. They got to Elisha and he came out. But when he saw the king of Israel, he got so angry he could not even look at him. He said I do not even want to see your face; go and call the prophets of your Read the rest of this entry
Off Key
“And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed” Gen. 32:38
Jacob was detuned from birth by his name. The name Jacob meant crook. Imagine giving a child such a name. Imagine at his naming ceremony when his mother was asked, “what shall this child be called?” And she answered, “Crook; he shall be called crook”. That was what Jacob’s name literally meant, supplanter. The name Jacob put him out of tune with his destiny from birth and God had to retune him. “…Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel…” Gen. 32:38. The name Israel means prince of Read the rest of this entry
