Ps.31:2 “Rescue me quickly when I cry out to you. At the sound of my prayer may your ear be turned to me. Be my strong shelter and hiding place on high. Pull me into victory and breakthrough.” (TPT)
When we fast what happens? When We Fast, Cleansing Happens – Spirit, Soul, And Body. When We Fast, Our Appetite For God Increases. When We Fast, Sensitivity To God’s Voice Increases. When We Fast, We Experience Fulfilment In Our Spirit, Soul, And Body. When We Fast, Creativity Spikes and Protection Is Secured. Our protection is secured because Ps.91:1-4 “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.” Read the rest of this entry

Ps.91:4 “He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armour and protection.”
What happens when we fast? When We Fast, Cleansing Happens – Spirit, Soul, And Body. Secondly, When We Fast, Our Appetite For God Increases. We long for and desire God more. Ps.42:1 “As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God.” Read the rest of this entry

Esther 4:16 “Go and gather together all the Jews of Susa and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will do the same. And then, though it is against the law, I will go in to see the king. If I must die, I must die.”
We see from Esther’s example, that while you can leverage your community to give weight to your fasting and praying, you cannot outsource your part in spiritual exercises. Some people engage ‘professional prophets’ to fast for them and the ‘prophet’ is asking for beverages so that he or she can Read the rest of this entry
DIY
Ezra 8:23 “So we fasted and earnestly prayed that our God would take care of us, and he heard our prayer.”
Today, we will go further in our final thought from yesterday. Matt.17:21 “But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” (NASB, emphasis added). When Jesus saw the demon-possessed boy, did He say to the father wait, let me go and fast and pray first? Read the rest of this entry
Fast & Pray
Ex.34:28 “Moses was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant—the Ten Commandments.” (NIV)
In today’s scripture reference we see what is called the Moses kind of fast. Moses did not eat food or drink water for forty days and forty nights. For this kind of fast, I would say except the Lord shows, up to you and tells you to do it, do not do it. Read the rest of this entry
Fasting 101
Daniel 9:3 “So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and fasting. I also wore rough burlap and sprinkled myself with ashes.”
There are certain fundamentals of the faith that we assume people understand. However, from engaging with people I have discovered that some people really do not understand these things. So, rather than assume we all understand, it is important that we explain the concept of fasting again. Read the rest of this entry
The Workings
Ex.38:22-23 “Now Bezalel, son of Uri son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, had made all that the LORD had commanded Moses; at his side was Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, carver and designer, and embroiderer in blue, purple, and crimson yarns and in fine linen.” (Torah)
From this scripture, we see that the Spirit of God is the creative Spirit. It is a misnomer to say you are filled with the Holy Spirit and you are anything but creative. Please read Proverbs 22:29. What are you doing in front of obscure men? Read the rest of this entry
Create!
Gen.2:19-20 “So the Lord God formed from the ground all the wild animals and all the birds of the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would call them, and the man chose a name for each one. He gave names to all the livestock, all the birds of the sky, and all the wild animals…”
Creativity [to create] can be defined as is the ability to merge the practical and the imaginary, a seamless merger between the intuitive and the pragmatic. You can be a thinking-doer or a doing-thinker, but you must be a doer and a thinker for you to be creative. Read the rest of this entry
Priority One
Nehemiah 10:35 “We promise to bring the first part of every harvest to the Lord’s Temple year after year—whether it be a crop from the soil or from our fruit trees.”
A lot of people are confused about tithing and there is a lot of abuse on tithing. But the truth is, it does not change the fact that tithing is a principle legitimately engraved in the Word of God. I shared with you yesterday that I have been tithing for as long as I can remember. Read the rest of this entry
Happy Are You
Proverbs 3:9-10 “Glorify God with all your wealth, honouring him with your firstfruits, with every increase that comes to you. Then every dimension of your life will overflow with blessings from an uncontainable source of inner joy!” (TPT)
We will kick off today’s devotional with our discourse from yesterday. Let’s look at the gentlemen from yesterday’s illustration. The gentleman with the nineteen thousand income that was able to save ninety-seven thousand over twelve months is a story about priorities. Read the rest of this entry
