Face It!

Then David asked the Lord, “Should I chase after this band of raiders? Will I catch them?” And the Lord told him, “Yes, go after them. You will surely recover everything that was taken from you!” 1Sam.30:8-9

Stop and think about this portion of scripture for a minute. David had access to the oracle but see what he is asking, By God’s grace I am privileged to speak with people going through times and the question most of them ask is, “Lord, why did this happen to me”? Some demand an explanation from me about why God allowed it? Some are eager to know who they offended. Some start to list all the things they have done right [paying tithe, giving] as reasons why misfortune Read the rest of this entry

You Will Prevail!

“The Lord is with me, so I will not be afraid. No one on earth can do anything to harm me. The Lord is my helper. I will see my enemies defeated” Ps.118:6-7 [ERV]

Take responsibility for your life. What happens when we raise a generation that is not strong because they are not accustomed to pain? I have not proven it but I can tell you the greater you are as a person or as a leader is directly proportional to your capacity for pain. The greater you become as a leader is directly proportional for your Read the rest of this entry

Ask, Obey, And Focus!

Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.  But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shoutedMatt.14:29-30

With God I am just like a child and you probably would laugh if you hear me praying. When people offend me, I just report them to God. A lot of people are probably thinking now that that is so childish, well that is the whole point. We need to deal with God as children. Children make bold request. A child is standing on the balcony of the first floor and asking his father Read the rest of this entry

Freedom vs. License?

Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism…” Rom.6:1-2

Grace is freedom from sin, grace is not license to sin! If you do not understand grace, you would think grace is license to sin. You would think it acceptable to sin and you can always come back to the Blood of Jesus for cleansing. That was what Paul was addressing when he said to the Romans should you continue sinning so that grace should abound, God forbid. In Read the rest of this entry

Project and Prophesy

But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.” Psalm 33:11

Yesterday we said, in goal setting the number one thing is acknowledging God [Ps.127:1]. We set goals knowing that God Himself sets goals. How do I know? It is in the Bible and I will show you. “He planned to bring all of history to its goal in Christ. Then Christ would be the head of everything in heaven and on earth” Eph.1:10 [GW]. God’s goal is to make Jesus Lord of everything. Sooner or later Read the rest of this entry

Learn Their Ways

Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and become wise! Though they have no prince or governor or ruler to make them work, they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter” Prov.6:6-8

Many of us go through life with no clear-cut vision, no clear-cut God imprinted big idea for our lives. You still hear people say things like I just want to be famous. There is noting wrong with a child thinking or desiring to be famous. But you cannot be in your thirties and your vision is being famous. Some people say to me, I don’t care I just want to ‘hammer’. Initially I didn’t know what ‘hammer’ Read the rest of this entry

Foundation Stone III

Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:  Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel…Gen.49:3-4 [emphasis added].

All of us must desire understanding when it comes to spiritual things. Spiritual things are not like a switch but rather spiritual things are more like an electric oven; it takes time to heat up when you plug it. That is why when you keep praying, after a while you notice you begin to get the results. It takes time. However, it is the same thing when you unplug the electric oven, it also takes time to cool Read the rest of this entry

Great God!

God, why are people so important to you? Why do you even notice them?” Job 7:17 [ERV].

He made the things that we can see and the things we cannot see [Read Col.1:16]. So there are things we can see and things we cannot see. Speaking about the things we can see either with our physical eyes or with the help of technology. For instance, man has created all sorts of telescopes and we are now able to see all sorts of amazing things. Take the mountains for instance; there Read the rest of this entry

What Are You Doing?

The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none’ Deut.28:12 [NIV].

The fourth thing you have to reinforce or learn is God will bless the works of your hands. In other words, it is only the works of your hands that God will bless. God will not bless the dreams of your mind that have not translated into work. Some people are super dreamers, always dreaming. It is good to have a very big vision; it is better to just start something. You know why? It is because God will only bless the works of your hands. Read the rest of this entry

Guard Against IV

‘So I advise you to buy gold from me—gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be rich. Also buy white garments from me so you will not be shamed by your nakedness, and ointment for your eyes so you will be able to see. Rev.3:18.

The third challenge of being rich is you have a greater responsibility. ‘Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life1Tim.6:17-19. This portion of Scripture lists the things that the people that are rich Read the rest of this entry
