Far More
Jeremiah 29:11 “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out. I alone know the plans I have for you—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.” (MSG & GNT)
Why should I keep praying even though the answers appear to be delayed? Firstly, persistent prayer focuses me on God. Secondly, persistent prayer clarifies my request. The third reason why I should keep praying is, Persistent Praying Prepares Me For The Answer. Read the rest of this entry
Voice Plug
Dan.10:12-14 “…Since the first day you began to pray… your request has been heard in heaven… I have come in answer to your prayer. But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me…”
When was the answer released? Immediately but when did Daniel receive it? Twenty-one days later. What do you think would have happened if Daniel did not tarry in the place of prayer insisting on an answer? Read the rest of this entry
When Light Flows, IV
Matt.5:15 “Similarly it would be silly to light a lamp and then hide it under a bowl. When someone lights a lamp, she puts it on a table or a desk or a chair, and the light illumines the entire house.” (Voice)
My light flows when I call the things that be not as though they were. Secondly, my light flows when I engage in community. Thirdly, my light flows When I Dare To Take A Stand. Matt. 5:15 “No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.” Read the rest of this entry
Best vs. Easy; Habits III
Matt.20:28 “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
We are still looking at the habits of choosing what is best over what is easy. Habit number one; change I deserve to I am responsible. Habit number two; do the hard things first. Habit number three; keep inconvenient commitments. Read the rest of this entry
Best vs. Easy; Habits I
Luke 17:10 “So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’” (NIV)
Today, we dive straight into the habits of choosing what is best over what is easy. The first is, change ‘I deserve’ to ‘I am responsible’. ‘I deserve’ is a dangerous phrase. A son walks up to his Dad and says, ‘Dad, I deserve a new video game.’ No, you do not! Read the rest of this entry
Heard, Seen, and Touched
1 John 1:1 “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life” (NKJV).
John 21:24 “This disciple is the one who testifies to these events and has recorded them here. And we know that his account of these things is accurate.” John finally owned up that the other disciple, the person that wrote this book, and the person that Jesus loved is he, John. Expressions
John 21:17 “Then Jesus asked him again, “Peter, son of John, do you have great affection for me?” Peter was saddened by being asked the third time and said, “My Lord, you know everything. You know that I burn with love for you!” Jesus replied, “Then feed my lambs!” (TPT)
Your expression of love to God depends on your level with God. How an ‘infant’ – a baby Christian, will express love to God is different from how ‘a child’ in God that is not an infant will express love. How a ‘teenager’ in Christ will express love is different from how a ‘child’ would. Read the rest of this entry
Outlook
John 20:9-10 “for until then they still hadn’t understood the Scriptures that said Jesus must rise from the dead. Then they went home.”
Today we start off by delving deeper into our final thought from yesterday. John 20:5 “He stooped and looked in and saw the linen wrappings lying there, but he didn’t go in.” Even though John told us how he outran Peter and got to the tomb first, John got there and did not act until Peter got there. Truth
John 18:38 “What is truth?” Pilate asked. Then he went out again to the people and told them, “He is not guilty of any crime.
“What is truth?”, Pilate asked. In John 18:37 “…Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.” Jesus said, ‘Everybody that loves the truth and knows the truth follows Me.’ Pilate asked, “What is truth?” Pilate was a Roman political Read the rest of this entry
Unity & Glory
Rom. 15:6 “In this unity, you will share one voice as you glorify the one True God, the Father of our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, our Liberating King.” (Voice]
If in the few hours He had left, Jesus thought it important to pray for unity in the Church, then it is worthy of focus. What I say to my friends, my colleagues, my seniors in ministry is that, ‘we do not have to agree on all the minors. Read the rest of this entry
