Am I?

“But Jesus told him, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God” Luke 9:62

In scripture, Jesus said some really hard things unapologetically. “But Jesus told him, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God” Luke 9:62. That is really hard to say to someone who has pledged to follow you. The man was just asking for permission to say farewell to his Read the rest of this entry

All In!

“So Elisha returned to his oxen and slaughtered them. He used the wood from the plow to build a fire to roast their flesh. He passed around the meat to the townspeople, and they all ate. Then he went with Elijah as his assistant” 1 Kings 19:21

Interestingly when Elisha went to meet Elijah to ask for permission to go back and say goodbye his people guess what Elijah said? How is that my business? Is that a nice thing to say? Not at all, for someone that is going to let go of everything to follow this man of God. Elisha was definitely in for a roller coaster. He left his Read the rest of this entry

Learn Their Ways

Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and become wise! Though they have no prince or governor or ruler to make them work, they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter” Prov.6:6-8

Many of us go through life with no clear-cut vision, no clear-cut God imprinted big idea for our lives. You still hear people say things like I just want to be famous. There is noting wrong with a child thinking or desiring to be famous. But you cannot be in your thirties and your vision is being famous. Some people say to me, I don’t care I just want to ‘hammer’. Initially I didn’t know what ‘hammer’ Read the rest of this entry

Foundation Stone IV

“We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work” John 9:4

#4: STOP PROCRASTINATING. Stop procrastinating! What has God told you to do or what is God telling you to do? Just do it and stop procrastinating. God has told you to do something – just do it! I have come across people who have said they will do what God is telling them to do later and they boast that they will do it better then. Have you encountered such people? My sincere advice to all of Read the rest of this entry

Foundation Stone II

“‘Well done!’ the king exclaimed. ‘You are a good servant. You have been faithful with the little I entrusted to you, so you will be governor of ten cities as your reward” Lu.19:17.

You cannot afford to be comfortable with mediocrity or with being mentally lazy. Study! I repeatedly hear people say is it because I bought this device that I have to go back to school? No, it is because you are who you are that is why you have to study the about the device. It is not about the device here, it is about your life. For all of us our lives our filled with potential, filled with the things that God Read the rest of this entry

Day And Night

“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do” Josh.1:8.

The second phase in the progression is meditate on it day and night. The word meditate is not strictly passive. A lot of the time when we talk about meditation, people’s minds immediately picture a sitting down on a yoga mat crossing your legs holding your arms. But that is not all meditation is about. Meditation involves you engaging the Word of God and like the Word says, you engage the Word day Read the rest of this entry

Just Do It!

“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do” Josh.1:8.

Life is all about progressions. Different aspects of life have different progressions. For instance the musicians will tell you that to score songs, you first identify the chord progression of the song. The farmer will also tell you that crops and animals have their varying progressions. The Word of God shows us clearly that there is a Read the rest of this entry

Better Or Worse?

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” 1Pet.2:9 [emphasis added].

Sometimes when God challenges us, it just does not make any logical sense. We have had to make certain sacrifices that were down right difficult. Think about the sacrifices you made, has your life been better or worse for it? Think about it. This is because nobody trades with God, as my grandmother says, and comes up short – not one person! So God is saying to you and I, give Me your Isaac. Will you Read the rest of this entry

Causes Of Disagreement II

“Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?” Amos 3:3

My wife and I do not agree on many things and I do not have a problem with that. One thing we don’t agree on for instance is the number of times we should bathe in a day. She feels we should bathe three times a day. I say why? Is once not enough? Twice maybe but not three times! It is a minor issue; it does not matter. Read the rest of this entry

What Will It Be?

“So Elisha returned to his oxen and slaughtered them. He used the wood from the plow to build a fire to roast their flesh. He passed around the meat to the townspeople, and they all ate. Then he went with Elijah as his assistant” 1 Kings 19:21.

The third category of excuses is the pride of life – pride in our achievements and possessions. “Another said, ‘I have just bought five pairs of oxen, and I want to try them outLuke 14:19. The question to you and I is, what exactly is your excuse? If you follow the story in Luke 14:15-24 [Please read], immediately the Master Read the rest of this entry
