Love’s Sake III

“…God will judge the sexually immoral”  Heb. 13:4 [NIV]

God has not changed His standards. Premarital sex is unacceptable to God. A live-in partner is unacceptable to God. Adultery is unacceptable to God. Homosexuality is unacceptable to God. It always has been and it always will be. The law can change but it really does not matter. The law of man does not change the righteousness of God. The Bible says, God will judge sexual immorality. This is why I have been so transparent and open over the past few days. So that you will see that you are not alone. God can help you. If you Read the rest of this entry

Love’s Sake II

“Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God” 2 Cor.7:1.

Yesterday, we established that as far as sexual purity is concerned, you are going to have options but by the grace of God, by your determination and by your willingness to be accountable to other Christians, you will prevail. I have been married now for almost fifteen years and I can tell you that by my determination and by my accountability to other Christian Read the rest of this entry

Love’s Sake I

“And so, dear brothers, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living sacrifice, holy—the kind he can accept. When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask?” Rom.12:1 [LB]

Live your life according to God’s standards. Ask Esau; he repented but he lived with the scar all his life. So I plead with you dear brothers and sisters, live your life according to God’s standards. Some of you are in a difficult marriage right now and you have begun to dabble into certain things. For some single adults, all you want is just someone to cuddle. My sincere advice is to cuddle your pillow. And I am saying this not because I want to be cynical, but because I love you. If only it were not going to cost you so much; but it is so I Read the rest of this entry

Be In Charge

I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar” Ps.101:3 [emphasis added].

What is the point of eating bread that will turn into gravel in your mouth? Is it worth losing all your teeth? Who knows what is best for your life, you or God? This is the question you have to answer and settle in your heart. And your actions determine your answer to that question. Are you going to be more committed to doing what God says because He knows better? Or will you do what you think is best because it is your body? This is a question we all need to answer. God’s Standard

“Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body” 1 Cor.6:18

God wants us to think clearly about sex. No body knows more about sex than God Himself because He invented it. “God wants you to be pure and to keep clear of all sexual sin…” 1 Thes.4:3 [LB, emphasis added]. During sexual intercourse, there is a spiritual exchange. Let me explain – if Lucy is carrying curses and has sexual intercourse with Lucas, the demons that have access to Lucy now has access to Lucas. Now Lucas is a young business-man with Read the rest of this entry

Weeds II

The thorny ground represents those who hear and accept the message, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the cares and riches and pleasures of this life.  And so they never grow into maturity.”  Luke 8:14 [emphasis added].

Question –  how much effort is needed to grow a weed? None! Do you know why? It is because weeds are signs of neglect. Anything you neglect will grow weeds. The farmers will tell you that any area you neglect on the farm, weeds will grow there. If you neglect your walk with God, it will grow weeds. If you neglect your relationship with your spouse, it will grow weeds. If you neglect your relationship with your children, it will grow weeds. If you neglect your education, Read the rest of this entry

DIY

Some people are like the seeds on rocky soil.  They welcome the word with joy, whenever they hear it, but they don’t develop any roots.  They believe for a while, but when their faith is tested, they abandon it.”  Luke 8:13 [GWT, emphasis added].

I pray that your commitment will not be superficial. But you must also  take steps to  ensure it is not superficial. “Some people are like the seeds on rocky soil.  They welcome the word with joy, whenever they hear it, but they don’t develop any roots. A lot of people are like this. They hear the Word, they become excited about it, and the Word even brought tears to their eyes. Thank God for the tears but please do what you have heard. Just do it! I understand this will make Read the rest of this entry

New Light

“Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water” Heb.10:22 [NIV]

To grow spiritually, the second thing is I Must Be Resolved To Grow. Make the decision and accept the responsibility that comes with spiritual growth. How close are you to God now? You are as close as you want to be. Have you seen people way closer to God and you wish you could be like them? Guess what? You can be even closer to God and spiritually greater. But you are where you are because you have chosen to be. How do I know? The Word of God Read the rest of this entry

Grow Up!

When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity” 1 Cor.13:11-12

Some of us are allowing our hearts to become hardened because of the pains that we have gone through. For some of us reading this today, the pain was caused by your fellow Christians. And you are wondering, how can these people call themselves Christians and be behaving like this? And you have allowed that experience to harden your heart. It could even be your spouse who perhaps Read the rest of this entry

Abba Father

This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most” Heb.4:15-16

Bitterness has the power to make our minds become closed towards God. And having a closed mind towards God is a dangerous place to be. A lady that had gotten married as a virgin but had no children after years of being married could not understand why her friends that had several abortions, now had three or four children but she was childless at the time. There are things that we cannot wrap our minds around, that make our hearts become hardened towards God.
