Gen.18:8 “When the food was ready, Abraham took some yogurt and milk and the roasted meat, and he served it to the men. As they ate, Abraham waited on them in the shade of the trees.”
If it does not cost you anything, it is not going to take you anywhere. True worship happens when we take extreme measures to do things right. No one can be judge over your sacrifice to God because they do not even know where you are coming from. Read the rest of this entry
Over-The-Top
1 Chr.22:14 “I have worked hard to provide materials for building the Temple of the Lord—nearly 4,000 tons of gold, 40,000 tons of silver, and so much iron and bronze that it cannot be weighed. I have also gathered timber and stone for the walls, though you may need to add more.”
Luke 7:36-39 “Afterward Simeon, a Jewish religious leader, asked Jesus to his home for dinner. Jesus accepted the invitation. When he went to Simeon’s home, he took his place at the table. In the neighborhood there was an immoral woman of the streets, known to all to be a prostitute. When she heard that Jesus was at Simeon’s house, she took an exquisite flask made from alabaster, filled it with the most expensive perfume, went right into the home of the Jewish religious leader, and in front of all the guests, she knelt at the feet of Jesus. Broken and weeping, she covered his feet with the tears that fell from her face. She kept crying and drying his feet with her long hair. Over and over she kissed Jesus’ feet. Then, as an act of worship, she opened her flask and anointed his feet with her costly perfume. When Simeon saw what was happening, he thought, “This man can’t be a true prophet. If he were really a prophet, he would know what kind of sinful woman is touching him.” (TPT, emphasis added). The Passion Translation titles this passage, Extravagant Worship. Centre of Attraction
John 4:23 ““It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship.” (MSG, emphasis added)
We must be big on worship as people of God. Worship must be a huge part of your identity as a disciple of Christ Jesus. The truth is that the most important thing that we do is worship. Read the rest of this entry
Your Body Counts
Rom.12:1 “…..Offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God — which is your spiritual worship.” (NIV, paraphrased)
Do you realize that your body controls your destiny? Yes, your body actually controls your destiny. The reality is if you do not take care of your body, you do not care about your destiny. Read the rest of this entry
Only Jesus
Gal. 1:10 “Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.”
“Confused and disturbed, Mary tried to think what the angel could mean. So the angel said, ‘Do NOT BE AFRAID, Mary, for God has decided to bless and use you! You will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus . . . and he will be the Son of God, and his Kingdom will never end!’ Then Mary asked, ‘But how can this be?’” [Luke 1:29-34 paraphrased]. The Expedition
Ps. 63:1 “O True God, You are my God, the One whom I trust. I seek You with every fiber of my being. In this dry and weary land with no water in sight, my soul is dry and longs for You. My body aches for You, for Your presence.” (Voice).
To position himself for God’s blessings, Joseph cooperated. Are you cooperating with God’s Word and with God’s plans for your life? Are you cooperating with God? To position themselves for God’s blessings, the shepherd celebrated. Read the rest of this entry
Immanuel
Luke 2:10-11 “but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!”
To be positioned for blessings this season, we have to be like the shepherds and celebrate that God is with us. Joseph cooperated; the shepherds celebrated. Luke 2:16&20 “They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger… The shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them.” (emphasis added). Read the rest of this entry
Heard, Seen, and Touched
1 John 1:1 “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life” (NKJV).
John 21:24 “This disciple is the one who testifies to these events and has recorded them here. And we know that his account of these things is accurate.” John finally owned up that the other disciple, the person that wrote this book, and the person that Jesus loved is he, John.
