Advocate II

John 16:8-11 “And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.” (KJV].

When the Holy Spirit comes, He will radically redefine three of the foundational notions of spirituality. The first notion He is redefining is sin; sin is not believing in Jesus. Previously, the opposite of sin was righteousness. But now, the opposite of sin is faith in Christ Jesus sin. Read the rest of this entry

His Doing

Ps. 118:23 “This is from the Lord and is His doing; It is marvellous in our eyes.” (AMP].

John 9:2His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” (NRSV]. Their question was not, is there a sin in this equation? They did not ask if it was as a result of sin, they asked whose sin it was. Read the rest of this entry

The Verdict

Rom.8:1 “So now the case is closed. There remains no accusing voice of condemnation against those who are joined in life-union with Jesus, the Anointed One.” (TPT]

John 8:10-11 “Jesus straightened up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”  She said, “No one, sir.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go your way, and from now on do not sin again.” (NRSV, emphasis added). Read the rest of this entry

Impact

Ecc. 3:1 “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.”

Judgment

Ex.12:12 “On that night I will pass through the land of Egypt and strike down every firstborn son and firstborn male animal in the land of Egypt. I will execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt, for I am the Lord!” [with emphasis].

The ten sequential disasters [plagues] God unleashed on Egypt were targeted at the gods of Egypt. The first plague, turning the Nile to blood, was a judgment against Apis, the god of the Nile, Isis, goddess of the Nile, and Khnum, guardian of the Nile. Read the rest of this entry
