Likewise

1 John 4:7 [NKJV]Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone  who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love” [with emphasis].

Loving one another as our Scripture reference highlights is otherwise known as horizontal love. In Jesus’ response to the question, “…what should I do to inherit eternal life?”, the first part of Jesus’ response was, Read the rest of this entry

Love Connection

Rom.8:14 [NKJV] “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 …you received the Spirit of adoption… 16 That Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God 17 and if children, then heirs –heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ…”

When you are in God’s house, you need to relate as a child of God and as a child of His house. So, you attend to the Father’s house not out of duty but in response to His heart and out of a desire to please Him. Read the rest of this entry

Relax!

Psa.116:7 (VOICE) “O my soul! Return and relax. Come to your true rest, for the Eternal has showered you with His favor.”

I can confidently tell you that God loves me. God does not love me because I preach a good sermon or because someone gives his or her life to Jesus. Yes, He is happy but that is not the reason why He loves me. I know this truth like I know my name –it is engraved into every fibre of my being. So, I do not have or feel any pressure! Prodigally Yours

Isa.43:4 (VOICE)Because you are special to Me and I love you, I gladly give up other peoples in exchange for you; They are trivial by comparison to your weighty significance.

A young man was really excited of the new Lexus twin-engine car he just purchased. The car is so fantastic that when one engine shuts down, the second engine just picks up. So, he took his father for a ride in the car just to show him how fantastic the car was. Read the rest of this entry

Move Up!

Matt.6:12 (AMPC) “And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven (left, remitted, and let go of the debts, and have given up resentment against) our debtors.”

When God is prompting you to forgive someone, just forgive the person. If you refuse to follow His leading, you are holding your own self down. Jesus, in teaching us how to pray, alluded to the fact that when we do not forgive, we are holding ourselves down. Read the rest of this entry

Tenderness

Matt.5:44 (KJV) “…Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use you…” [with emphasis].

The sixth way to deal with difficult people is to Respond With Love. To respond with love, you must remember two things; inspite of people’s behaviour or what they have done, in spite of how irresponsible or how saucy they are, God loves them. Read the rest of this entry

Do It Quickly

Eph.4:26-27 (GN) “If you become angry, do not let your anger lead you into sin; and do not stay angry all day.  Don’t give the devil a chance.”

The fifth way to deal with difficult people is Resolve The Conflict Quickly. The question is, should a Christian ever get angry? Did Jesus ever get angry? Yes, Jesus did but that is not a license to be short fused. Inevitably, sometimes we get angry but God’s Word says, Eph.4:27 (Philips) “Never go to bed angry!” Read the rest of this entry

Just Do It!

Ps.119:132 Come and show me your mercy, as you do for all who love your name. 133 Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil.”

Me or Jesus? This is one question that every Christian must wrestle with. Lu.10:25 One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question: “Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus is just amazing! People came to Him with questions testing Him and Jesus always had the right answer for everyone. This man knew the question and the answer already and Jesus simply led him back to the truth that he already knew. Lu.10:26 Jesus replied, “What does the law of Moses say? How do you read it?” Read the rest of this entry

In Christ Alone

Josh 23: 11 So be very careful to love the Lord your God.”

The truth is that you will never find a job in which you will be one hundred percent fulfilled. Why? For the simple reason that God never intended for you to be one hundred percent fulfilled at work. Shocking, right? Read the rest of this entry

Love Work

Eccl. 5:18 “Even so, I have noticed one thing, at least, that is good. It is good for people to eat, drink, and enjoy their work under the sun … 19 (LB) “To enjoy your work, and to accept your lot in life — that is indeed a gift from God.” [with emphasis]
