What’s Your Excuse?

‘Don’t excuse yourself by saying, “Look, we didn’t know.” For God understands all hearts, and he sees you. He who guards your soul knows you knew. He will repay all people as their actions deserve’ Prov.24:12

David survived all the pressures of life because of his heart. David was sidelined, his own father, Jesse, and his brothers relegated him to the wilderness, David got a prize for killing goliath, the first daughter of Saul the king, but Saul gave his wife to somebody else. Imagine you have paid the bride price for your wife and then you go there to pick up your bride with your friends and find out that she has been given to someone else. But through all of this, David Read the rest of this entry

Your Heart

‘The Lord your God will change your heart and the hearts of your descendants, so that you will love him with all your heart and soul and so you may live!’ Deut.30:6.

Many of us have experienced those seasons where your heart questions ‘what is God doing? He is not answering prayers any more’. And it seems as though the wait is forever. Some of us opt to look for an alternative or better still do things ourselves. The truth? You are short changing yourself. David said, ‘I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed [his children] begging bread’. You and your children, and your children’s children will be taken care of by the Most High God in Jesus Read the rest of this entry

Anti-Seduction Strategy I

‘Don’t be so naive and self-confident. You’re not exempt. You could fall flat on your face as easily as anyone else. Forget about self-confidence; it’s useless. Cultivate God-confidence’’1 Cor.10:12 [MSG].

Before we delve into the anti-seduction strategies, there are two things you need to know about seduction. Firstly, anyone can be seduced. ‘You’re not exempt. You could fall flat on your face as easily as anyone else’. Those who are in ministry have noticed that that anointing does not resist temptation. Secondly, not everyone can be seduced. It may appear contradictory but it is not. ‘Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election Read the rest of this entry

Deliberate Leading

“You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman. “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.” Gen.3:4-5.

Everyone that will fulfill his or her destiny in God and the greatness that God has for him/her must overcome the spirit of seduction. Please note that today’s devotional has an 18PG rating. The dictionary defines seduction as the process of deliberately enticing a person in order to lead him/her astray sexually. Seduction is a process and the process of seduction starts with flirting. Flirting is any act that stimulates or is intended to Read the rest of this entry

Adam And Eve

“Haven’t you read the Scriptures?” Jesus replied. “They record that from the beginning ‘God made them male and female’ Matt.19:4

‘God made them male and female’. God did not create Adam and Steve. God did not make Adeline and Eve. It is a misnomer to see two men in a relationship. It is a misnomer to see a woman doting over another woman. Something is wrong with that. These are cases for deliverance, pure and simple. Identifying that there is a problem is the first step to deliverance. But people who insist on rationalizing their problems can never be Read the rest of this entry

Pay Attention

‘Sorrow is better than laughter, for sadness has a refining influence on us’ Ecc.7:3

When you weigh everything that is really bothering you in light of eternity what does it amount to? If you check a funeral suit, there are no pockets because you cannot take your wallet with you. Your mobile phone someone else is going to use it. And who ever insists on being buried dressed in gold or with precious stones so they can bribe the angels on the way because some people think like that. After they have put them in the ground, that same night the people that will exhume the body and collect the jewelry are Read the rest of this entry

His Word And His Voice

‘How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word’ Ps.119:9.

With God, sitting on the fence translates to being lukewarm. Some of us are unable to commit because we are afraid to make mistakes. Yet your commitment shows God and heaven that you mean business. I could trace the dramatic change in my life and the power of God to milestones in my commitment to purity.

Not Without Commitment

I made a covenant with my eyes not to look with lust at a young woman’ Job.31:1

Job was so committed to purity that he ‘made a covenant with [his] eyes not to look with lust at a young woman’. Even though Jesus had not physically walked the earth at that time, Job knew that the issue of purity goes beyond actually sleeping with a woman. Job did not need anyone to tell him that just by looking lustfully at a woman he has committed adultery. When you walk with God, you know these things. Pornography is even far off but they did Read the rest of this entry

Deeper In-Love

‘This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!’ 2 Cor.5:17.

If purity does not come by new behavior but by new creation, then it follows that purity does not grow with more new behaviors. How do you grow in purity? It is simple; you grow in purity with more affection for God. So the more the love I have for Christ, the more I lose the taste for sin. So if you are struggling with sin, check your affection for Jesus. The more you fall in love with Jesus the easier it is for you to let go of sin. Check two people who are in love, Read the rest of this entry

Hundred Percent

‘…Day after day and night after night they keep on saying, “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God, the Almighty -the One who always was, who is, and who is still to come’ Rev.4:8.

When God wanted to announce Himself to Moses He said, ‘the Lord, the Lord gracious, compassionate, full of mercy, slow to anger’. This is how God described Himself to Moses. But when the angels look at God in His fullness all they can say is Holy, Holy, Holy. And it is almost as if they do not have any other word in their vocabulary. ‘Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God Almighty, which was and is and is to come’. They could have said powerful, or Read the rest of this entry
