The Advantage!

The Privilege of Prayer: One of the greatest privileges that Jesus gave us is prayer. The ability to show up before God and pray is one of the greatest privileges of being a Christian. Knowing I
Luke 21:33 [TLB] “And though all heaven and earth shall pass away, yet my words remain forever true.”
Over the next few days, we are going to learn six plus one ways of testing a message and recognizing God’s voice. This is not some clever way of getting you to solve a math problem. It is six plus one because the first six ways are indispensable. Every Word from God must pass the first six tests. If it fails even one out of the six, throw it out or keep it in the cooler. The seventh is also very crucial but again it is not. You can authenticate with just the first six. So let us just say the seventh is an added advantage.
Voice Authentication
1 John 4:1 [LB] “Don’t believe everything you hear just because someone says it is a message from God; test it first to see if it really is!”
Today, we will take off from a thought we touched on yesterday and that is, that there are three sources of voices that exist. The first source is God. Scripture points out in Job 33:14 “For God speaks again and again, though people do not recognize it.” I pray that you will always recognize God, in Jesus Name. The second source is Yourself. Unfortunately, people talk to themselves and say God has spoken to them. No, dear brother or sister; you are the one talking to yourself. I talk to myself, I say “why did you do that?”
iWorship
Ps.147:10 (ERV) “War horses and powerful soldiers are not what he cares about. 11 The Lord enjoys people who worship him and trust in his faithful love. 12 Jerusalem, praise the Lord! Zion, praise your God!

Through Him
Heb.1:1-2 “Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son…”
In times past, in the Old Testament, God spoke to our fathers and to the people He wanted to reach through the prophets. Meaning, whoever wanted to hear from God had to have a relationship with a prophet. But today, God is saying if you want to hear from Him, you must have a relationship with His Son [Jesus Christ]. Proof
John 10:3-4 “…the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice”
It is so important for you to hear God for yourself. If you cannot hear God for yourself, people will attempt to lead you in their own direction. My advice is, go into your closet and pray. At The Roots
“He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” Rom.8:32 [NKJV]
If you check, you will find favour at the root of every rivalry. One person has been favoured above another. So the other person is jealous, bickering and comparing himself with the favoured person. If you cannot stand people being jealous of you, you cannot stand favour. God is going to favour you but you have to be comfortable with people being jealous of you. For a heart change to occur, the second thing is, I Must Believe that God LOVES me. It is not enough to believe that God is after me because some people think that God is after them to kill them. When some people think of God coming after them, they think of a judge with a big whip searching for their errors and whacking them on the head and on the backside. When you ask God, be ready to do what He says. It may not make sense to you now but it will do you good for years to come. A young man came to the office to tell me about the three girls he was keeping simultaneous relationships with and had invested in. He was ready to get married and settle down and he wanted God to pick a wife for him from the three ladies. The impression I got of the Lord at the time was, what if it is none of them? And I told him but he insisted it had to be because he had “invested” in all three ladies.
