1Jn.1:8 (NRSV) “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”
If we fail to recognize our sin nature, we will not appreciate what Christ did for us at Calvary. Therefore, we need to know how sin and transgression affect us. I call them the P’s of the effect of sin Read the rest of this entry
The Workings II
1 Pet. 2:24 (AMPC) “He personally bore our sins in His (own) body on the tree (as on an altar and offered Himself on it), that we might die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.”
Today, we will kick-off from where we stopped yesterday. Isaiah stood in the past and looked prophetically into The Cross, even though it was a future event, and he was receiving God’s Word for the present and declaring it prophetically. He was seeing Jesus being wounded for our Read the rest of this entry
Causes II
Jer.17:14 (NIV) Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.
Sometimes, people experience health issues and it is not because of sin, or because of God’s glory. Yes, God will still take the glory but that is not the original intent. Read the rest of this entry

Malachi 4:2 “But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture.
Yesterday, we began to talk about causes of sickness and the first we highlighted was Sin. Sin by Jesus’ definition is getting out of sync with God. Secondly, sicknesses happen Read the rest of this entry

Ps.51:1 “Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins… 4 Against you, and you alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight… 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.”

Unconditional Love
Rom.4:7 “Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sins are put out of sight. 8 Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of sin.”
I remember when growing up that I was not the most obedient child. Yet even though I was that troublesome, I was never thrown out to the dogs. Regardless of how much trouble I caused, no one in my family ever saw me in harm’s way and look the other way. Read the rest of this entry
One Another
James 5:16 “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”
Eccl.4:9 “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. 10 If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. 11 Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? 12 A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.” Read the rest of this entry
Beware!
John 8:32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Part of knowing who you are is knowing what you stand for and knowing what you believe. A lot of us need to stop and think about what we actually believe and stand for. Growing up, it was drilled into us to always Read the rest of this entry

Mark 2:17 “When Jesus heard this, he told them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”
When we begin to treat things like murder, adultery, stealing, and lying, they are just symptoms of the disease in our hearts called sin.
