Yoked II
“And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God” Lu.13:13 [emphasis added]
When we were being trained to pastor, one of the things we were taught is, as you climb spiritually, make sure you carry your spouse along. I say spouse because sometimes it is the women that climb faster. In any case, just ensure that you carry your spouse along. Why? The reason is if you crash, you are crashing to the level of the slower climber. Imagine you have climbed to the tenth floor and your spouse is still on the second floor. When there is a crash, you will both end up on Read the rest of this entry
Fess-up!
“Suppose I wanted to hide from you and said, “Surely the darkness will hide me. The day will change into night and cover me.” Even the darkness is not dark to you. The night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are the same” Ps. 139:11-12
“…And they have not only stolen them but have lied about it and hidden the things among their own belongings” Josh.7:11 [emphasis added]. You could almost feel God’s pain reading this portion of Scripture. “They have not only stolen, but they have hidden it and lied about it.” One of your greatest assets in your walk with God is your sincerity. If you have done something, no matter what it is, be sincere with your heavenly Father. David is an amazing Read the rest of this entry
Prerequisite
“Year after year it was the same—Peninnah would taunt Hannah as they went to the Tabernacle. Each time, Hannah would be reduced to tears and would not even eat” 1Sam.1:7
Samuel was a child that came from holding God’s hand and asking of the Lord. In fact Samuel is a product of help from heaven. Hannah had to endure the pain of not having children for several years. For some of us, it is not the pain of not having physical children but we are going through a painful situation that has lingered for Read the rest of this entry
God’s Elect!
“You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit…” Jn.15:16
All the prayer, worship, devotion, and fellowship are so that you and I can bear fruit. We have a part to play with God to bring about this fruit. God wants to cooperate with us to bring about life change in other people. Paul said, “I planted the seed. Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow” 1 Cor.3:6. God will make your seed grow, in the mighty name of Jesus! We are born to reproduce. Growth in Christ Read the rest of this entry
The Mark!
“Jesus said “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit…” Jn.15:5
Sometimes we have very strange ways of measuring our spiritual maturity. So what is the mark of spiritual maturity? To answer this question, I will ask you yet another question, How do you know when a boy becomes a man or a girl becomes a woman? What is the mark of biological maturity? Think about it, what really is the mark of biological maturity? Biologically, an organism is termed to be mature when Read the rest of this entry
Real Talk
“The generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed” Prov.11:25
Honestly, you and I need to start asking ourselves these hard questions, “Have I been a Taker?” If you have a friend or people around you ask them and make up your mind not to react at the response you get. Ask, “how do you see me in this relationship? Am I always demanding and taking or am I a Giver and do I give?” Guess what? The person who is always taking and never giving will become stale, unpleasant, and Read the rest of this entry
Line Upon Line
“He tells us everything over and over— one line at a time, one line at a time, a little here, and a little there!” Isa.28:10
“He tells us everything over and over— one line at a time, one line at a time, a little here, and a little there!” If God, the Maker of the heavens and the earth takes time out to tell you everything over and over, don’t you think you need to pay attention to what He is saying? Little beginnings can be equated to the place of waiting perhaps for the next big thing or for the doors to open unto you. God has placed you close to married people so that He can birth a desire Read the rest of this entry
Pay Attention!
“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin…” Zech.4:10
A lot of times we are so caught up with racing to the top that we miss out on vital lessons we need to learn along the way to the top. Never ignore the things you think are time wasting or useless. Most of the time, these are the lessons you will need in future. We are always so caught up with the seemingly big things that we tend to miss out on, overlook, and grumble about the seemingly little things God is doing. “He who is faithful in little will be faithful in much”. Take Note!
“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men” Prov.22:29 [KJV]
“Using a dull axe requires great strength, so sharpen the blade. That’s the value of wisdom; it helps you succeed” Ecc.10:10. You have been given the axe and the wood, however succeeding at the task of cutting the wood is tied to sharpening the blade of the axe. The success or failure of this task is the resultant effect of the decisions you make here after. Incompetence would mean knowing the blade needs to be sharpened but refusing to sharpen it or waiting Read the rest of this entry
Seed Of Excellence
“Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was found in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm” Daniel.6:3 [KJV]
Excellence is what sets you apart from average. To excel is to go beyond the ordinary. An excellent person is always preferred and selected above people who are just good. God has placed a seed of excellence in everyone He created. All we need to do is develop that seed up to the fruit bearing stage. Daniel did not become excellent when he interpreted Nebuchadnezzar’s dream. His excellence did not start when he interpreted the writings on the wall, Read the rest of this entry
