Take Heart

John 16:33 “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

In this world, we will have many trials and sorrows but we have an assurance of peace and victory in God. The reality is that some experiences leave us deeply scared,

Key Component II

Prov.3:5 (ERV) “Trust the Lord completely, and don’t depend on your own knowledge. Don’t trust in your own wisdom, but fear and respect the Lord and stay away from evil. 8 If you do this, it will be like a refreshing drink and medicine for your body.”

Planted

Jer. 17:7-8 “…They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they go right on producing delicious fruit” [with emphasis]

I pray in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, that you will go on producing delicious fruits regardless of what is happening on the outside; regardless of whether there is a long drought or not. Read the rest of this entry

Differentiator

Matt.7:24 “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. 25 Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.”

It is the storms and not wealth that is the differentiator in life. The storm is what reveals you to you. And that is why sometimes, God will allow us to experience storms so that we can identify the areas in our lives that are built on sand and not on the rock. Read the rest of this entry

Damaging Effects

1 Tim. 5:13 “They also learn to waste their time in going around from house to house; but even worse, they learn to be gossips and busybodies, talking of things they should not.”

Gossip is casual or unconstrained conversation about other people, typically involving details that are not confirmed and in many cases, lies. If you are in any position of authority, be aware that people will bring unsolicited gossip to you.

Created Things

Prov.6:6 “Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and become wise! Though they have no prince or governor or ruler to make them work, 8 they labour hard all summer, gathering food for the winter.”

Just as today’s Scripture reference suggests, we must take a lesson from the created things. For instance, eagles ruffle their nests and push their eaglets out of the nest – fly or fall! Read the rest of this entry

Antidote

Lu.12:15 (GN) “And he went on to say to them all, “Watch out and guard yourselves from every kind of greed; because your true life is not made up of the things you own, no matter how rich you may be”[with emphasis]

A lot of people hate to admit it but the truth remains that work can become an addiction. People can damage their souls, damage their families, damage their spiritual development, and damage their own physical health. But God is offering us a cure – His cure for workaholism. God is saying R-E-L-A-X! Read the rest of this entry

Just Do It!

Ps.119:132 Come and show me your mercy, as you do for all who love your name. 133 Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil.”

Me or Jesus? This is one question that every Christian must wrestle with. Lu.10:25 One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question: “Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus is just amazing! People came to Him with questions testing Him and Jesus always had the right answer for everyone. This man knew the question and the answer already and Jesus simply led him back to the truth that he already knew. Lu.10:26 Jesus replied, “What does the law of Moses say? How do you read it?” Read the rest of this entry

From Above

Col.3:24 (GN)”… Remember that the Lord will reward you… For Christ is the real Master you serve.” [with emphasis]

When we work for the Lord and work like the Lord then we should expect our reward from the Lord. This is the third step to having a proper perspective. Read the rest of this entry

Step Up Lesson 4

Gen.18:12 So she laughed silently to herself and said, “How could a worn-out woman like me enjoy such pleasure, especially when my master—my husband—is also so old?” [with emphasis].

What did God tell Sarah would happen by the same time in the following year? God said Abraham and Sarah would have a son, right? But what was Sarah thinking about? She was thinking about sex [it is in the Bible, read your Bible]. Read the rest of this entry
