Before and After III

So if you speak in a way no one can understand, what’s the point of opening your mouth?1 Cor.14:9 [MSG]

It is God who has turned your life into the testimony it is today. Your testimony is the greatest witness; your own personal icebreaker from God Himself. Today, we share a few examples of ‘before and after’ so that when you are coming up with your own story you will have an idea of what could be. It could be – before I was striving but now I am grateful; before I was self destructive, now I Read the rest of this entry

Before and After II

“He healed my eyes, and yet you don’t know where he comes from? Ever since the world began, no one has been able to open the eyes of someone born blind. If this man were not from God, he couldn’t have done it.” Luke 9:30, 32-33

You have a story and I have a story. God wants us to tell our stories for His glory. There was a time that the devil almost killed me with sickness. I took injections everyday for over forty days. That’s to show you how bad it was. But I cried to Jesus and He healed me. I can’t remember the last time I took any injection. That can only be God. Can anyone tell me that Jesus does not exist? What is your Read the rest of this entry

Before and After I

‘He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see’ John 9:25

You also have a story and a powerful story for that matter. Your job is to learn how to tell your story. Please read John 9. There was a man that was born blind and Jesus healed him. The response of the religious leaders to the man’s healing was ‘this is a Sabbath day you cannot be healed on a Sabbath day’. Can you imagine that? Think about it, those religious leaders were just insensitive. Read the rest of this entry

The Bridge

‘I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life’ John 5:24

What exactly is the bridge? On one side there is a God and on the other side there is man. Between God and man there is a gulf [gap, space]. The gulf [space or separation] was caused by man’s desire to do things his own way and not God’s way. It was man’s rebellion against God’s approaches that separated man from God. In simple terms, man disobeyed God. The reason why it is important to Read the rest of this entry

Good News

‘This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life’ John 3:16 [MSG].

One of the things you begin to learn as a Pastor is that people, including you, really do need divine intervention. And God says, “I will give you power to trample [to step; to march] upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you” – nothing. In Ephesians 6, this same God says, “put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand. Read the rest of this entry

Passionate Influence

‘Come and see a man who knew all about the things I did, who knows me inside and out. Do you think this could be the Messiah?” And they went out to see for themselves’ John 4:19-20 [MSG]

We are all very different and have been called to serve in very different roles. But the ultimate purpose of our destinies is to connect people to God. And God is all about that – connecting people to Him. Imagine if people would say about God’s Favourite House, you should hear those people talk about their God. They are so fired up when they talk about Jesus. They get so pumped up when Read the rest of this entry

Championing Change

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and Son and the Holy SpiritMatt.28:19.

Every follower of Jesus Christ has a mandate to reproduce other believers. The power of evangelism isn’t in the volume of scripture that you know but in the person of Jesus that you know. Being an effective witness has nothing to do with you going or not going to Bible College. Being an effective witness has nothing to do with whether you do or do not know every word in the Bible. Next Steps

The man answered, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’ Luke 10:27.

If you are going to break the ice effectively you have to live in 3D. Your friend’s next step could be a book, or a sermon CD, or the next step could be just keep quiet and be friendly; don’t talk about Jesus. And when your relationship has grown and deeply rooted, the next step may be to ask them directly to give their lives to Jesus. But you do not start by asking the person to give his/her life to Read the rest of this entry

Worthy Purpose

‘Then Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work’ John 4:34

Go and get your husband”, Jesus told her. “I don’t have a husband,” the woman replied. Jesus said, “You’re right! You don’t have a husband…John 4:16-18. Jesus connected to the Samaritan woman’s story by word of knowledge while He was talking with her. She was astonished as Jesus began to tell her her life’s history. When we develop friendships, the purpose is to discover stories. Read the rest of this entry

Go Connect

‘Then he said to the disciples, “Anyone who accepts your message is also accepting me. And anyone who rejects you is rejecting me. And anyone who rejects me is rejecting God, who sent me”’ Luke 10:16

God will require us to move out of our comfort zones. For those who are struggling with a particular tribe, God may send you to start a church in the heart of that very tribe. You need to drop your “better be’s”. You hear people desiring a life partner saying ‘the person I’m going to marry had better be xyz’. Then they have ‘better not be’s’, ‘he/she had better not be short’. But God can choose Read the rest of this entry
