Plan For It II
“Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit” 3 John 1:2.
Today’s scripture reference highlights three key areas God wants us to do well in. God wants you and I to prosper and we must embrace this truth. Secondly, God wants us to be in health, embrace it. And thirdly, God wants us to be spiritually sound and spiritually strong, embrace it. However, in these three areas, you must ask the three key security questions which many people shy away from. But our goal is to exit our devotion time each day stronger than we came in. I can assure you that the three key security questions will make you uncomfortable. But as you go Read the rest of this entry
Plan For It I
“Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit” 3Jn.1:2
To be successful in security, you must understand that victory and defeat are always possible. God’s Word tells us that we are seated with Jesus in heavenly places but because of that we think defeat is not possible. Defeat is possible on this earth if you take things for granted. It is my prayer that you will not be defeated, in Jesus Name. Always know that victory is possible and so is defeat.
Your Territory
“Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith…” 1 Pet.5:8-9 [emphasis added]
God’s instructions to us today are stay alert and stand firm. Every top military general focuses not only on success but also on survival. Success is one thing but survival is another. It is one thing to gain grounds but maintaining grounds is another thing all together. Once you have achieved an objective, spend the rest of your energy defending the territory. The objective could be getting a job. Once you achieve the objective, guess what? There are people Read the rest of this entry
No Limit!
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction” Prov.1:7 [NKJV]
Did the person that came first in your class have two heads? Are you familiar with this statement? A lot of us heard it repeatedly when we were growing up, especially relating to academic performance. The statement usually is accompanied with some strokes of the cane. Some people may say that it is a little bit extreme. Well, I do not think so because it drilled into me that no one is better than me. You are as good as you want to be. Where you are today is where you want to be. It is a choice you have made. But the question is, do you want to remain there or will you Read the rest of this entry
Get Better
“A wise man will hear and increase learning, And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel” Prov.1:5 [NKJV]
Society used to be divided between those who have and those who do not have. But I tell you the truth, going forward, society is going to be divided by those who know and those who do not know. Knowledge is going to be the key decider. Your life only gets better when you get better. You cannot get better if you do not even know where you stand. Everybody wants his or her life to get better but your life can only get better when you get better.
Need To Know II
“You have searched me, Lord, and you know me… Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely” Ps.139:1& 4 [NIV]
You have to consistently check the people around you because people change; some actually get better while some get worse. Have you ever heard the story of Lagos? There are different versions of the story of Lagos but I will tell you the version an Oba [king] told me. The Oba of Lagos had always been prosperous. He had many wives but out of the many wives, one was special. The Oba of Benin on the Read the rest of this entry
Need To Know I
“Using a dull ax requires great strength, so sharpen the blade. That’s the value of wisdom; it helps you succeed” Ecc.10:10
Know your allies. Who are the people around you? Do you know the people around you? Who are your allies? Do you know the people that appear to be on your side? Write down their names, take the list to God and pray for them one after the other. Some people have been married for twenty years and they do not know their spouse. He or she may be flying while you are sleeping. You need to know everyone Read the rest of this entry
Superior Intel
“When the king of Israel saw them, he shouted to Elisha, “My father, should I kill them? Should I kill them?” “Of course not!” Elisha replied. “Do we kill prisoners of war? Give them food and drink and send them home again to their master.” 2 Kings 6:21-22
Please read 2 Kings 8:8-23. I pray that the Holy Spirit will breathe on you as you engage this Scripture. It is the story of Elisha and the king of Aram. The king of Aram would plot to attack the king of Israel and Elisha will hear what they are saying in his house and tell the king of Israel about the plot. It is beautiful to stay in your house and hear what people are saying in their houses. It happens to me and many times it is unsolicited. I hope this births a hunger in you for depths in God.
Seek & Squeeze
“But Jesus said, “Someone deliberately touched me, for I felt healing power go out from me” Luke 8:46
I remember sitting down with Craig Groeschel, the Pastor of Life Church and practically squeezing him with my questions. I knew without a doubt that he knew more than me. I was hungry to acquire that knowledge so I did not pretend. Arrogance will not take anyone anywhere. Some of you think you know. The truth – you cannot begin to ask questions until you know you do not know. When some Read the rest of this entry
Be Wise
“Along the way they found an Egyptian man in a field and brought him to David. They gave him some bread to eat and water to drink… for he hadn’t had anything to eat or drink for three days and nights. Before long his strength returned” 1 Sam.30:11-12
The fact that God has spoken to you does not mean you do not need intelligence. David and his men returned to find that the Amalekites had raided their homes, burned everything to the ground and taken away their wives and children [Please read 1 Sam.30]. And of course, David turned to the Lord, shall I pursue? Will I overtake? Will I recover? And God said, pursue, you will surely overtake and without fail you will recover all. That was a Word from Read the rest of this entry
