Have Faith & Build Faith
‘Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see’ Heb.11:1
As children of God everything we do really rests on faith. You call on the name of Jesus daily because you have faith that His name will bring deliverance to whatever situation you find yourself in. When you sit on a chair, you have faith that it can hold your weight. Similarly as children of God, everything we do from here on till eternity should be based on faith. The only reason you know you are saved is because you have faith. Faith is a shield. It protects you from living only by what you can see and know but trusting in every Read the rest of this entry
Keep Your Life
‘For the Scriptures say, if you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies. Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it’’ 1Peter 3:10-11
‘In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created…’ John1:1-4. You and I have been created in the image of God. This also means that God has given us power in our mouths and the words we speak. Therefore as children of God we must watch every word that comes out of our mouth. ‘Those who control their Read the rest of this entry
Forgiveness
‘Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you’ Eph.4:32.
Forgiveness is easy when you walk in love. In other words, forgiveness is possible when you allow yourself to grow in God. Jesus demonstrated to us that wholeness is achievable through forgiveness. He forgave the sins of the Paralytic man; He forgave the sins of the woman caught in adultery. Many miracles come after forgiveness happens. This season the miracle you desire so badly may just be hinged on your willingness to forgiven. Interestingly, when it comes to forgiveness, people are quick to think that it applies only to when Read the rest of this entry
Profitable Walk
‘Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come’ 1 Tim.4:8
Is it not interesting that God prescribes exercising in His Word? Working out in a gym, at home, or engaging in any kind of physical exercise is a great thing to do and I strongly recommend it. I like to play football to keep myself fit. However, even though physical training is good, our physical bodies are restricted to this side of eternity irrespective of how fit they may be. This body is a temporary tent for our life here on earth. Yet God recommends training for godliness as much better because it promises benefits in this life and in Read the rest of this entry
Agape Love
‘Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged’ 1 Cor.13:4-5.
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right’ 2 Tim.3:16. How is your love walk? Agape is God’s Love. Embodied in Jesus is the perfect example of God’s love. This is the strongest kind of love and is the pillar on which every other kind of love should lean on. In other words, every other kind of love finds it’s existence and essence in the agape love. Agape love is the love that lasts forever. ‘And I am Read the rest of this entry
Eros Love
‘For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh’ Eph. 5:31.
Eros love from which the word erotic derives it’s origin is love between a husband and his wife. It is sexual love designed by God for the institution of marriage. The world has tried to pollute and corrupt this kind of love by promoting it as cheap emotions responded to only on instinct. The truth is that God designed it as a fulfilling kind of intimacy reserved solely for married couples. If you are currently sleeping with someone who is not your husband or someone who is another person’s husband, what you are doing is not the eros kind Read the rest of this entry
Phileo love
‘A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another’ John 13:34-35
The word love has been broadly used and because of this many people don’t have a clear understanding of what love is truly about. There are many aberrations of love which people have come up with to suit their circumstances and for their convenience. The Bible recognizes three kinds of love – Agape, Eros, and Phileo. Phileo is the brotherly love we share and have for one another. This kind of love can fade with the challenges of life. Esau did not start out hating Jacob. He must have loved him as a brother would. But when Jacob stole his Read the rest of this entry
Who Are You?
‘For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus [born anew] that we might do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us…’ Eph.2:10 [AMP]
A major key to achieving internal peace is knowing who you are. You are not what you earn. You have billions yes but you are not a billionaire. That is not who you are. People who think of themselves in terms of what they earn, as soon as they experience a challenge in their finances it affects their core. You are not what you possess. You are not what happened to you. You may have been a victim of rape but do not remain a victim. You may have undergone divorce but don’t remain a victim. You are not what happened to you. Neither Read the rest of this entry
Peace Within
‘For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago’ Eph.2:10
The third kind of peace that God wants us to pursue is internal peace. The reason why wars continue in our homes and in our relationships is because if our vertical peace is unstable then we have issues with our relationships. Secondly, it is impossible to have peace without when there is war within. So if the person you are in a relationship with consistently hurts you, you may want to check if the person is at peace with himself/herself. If they hate themselves, they cannot love you because they cannot give what they do not Read the rest of this entry
Within Your Power
‘If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men’ Rom.12:18 [NKJV].
We need to understand that God has called us to be peacemakers and not necessarily peace achievers. There is a difference because peacemakers don’t always achieve peace. Peace achievers think they have failed if they do not achieve peace. A peacemaker longs for, works for, sacrifices for peace, and prays for peace. But the attainment of peace may or may not come. It is possible for you to seek for peace and peace would not come. ‘Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone’ Rom.12:18. Sometimes it does not lie with you Read the rest of this entry
