The Difference
‘A widow of that city came to him repeatedly, saying, ‘Give me justice in this dispute with my enemy’ Luke 18:3
It is most heart breaking that we have a generation who close their eyes, shake their heads, and pray to God for a miracle. And when nothing happens, seemingly, they curse God. A generation that starts to doubt God because they prayed yesterday and God did not answer today. God wants you to know that He’s got your back. He says, when you go through the fire, He will be with you. Sometimes, when God takes me through certain things I say to Him, ‘is this not too much for just one person?’ Yes, God takes us through the fire but it is in the fire that Jesus is revealed. It is in the fire that the semblance of the Son of God is manifested. Over the next few days we will be learning four truths from the story Jesus told in Luke 18:1-8. It is important for you to know that the Word of God is cumulative. God has said and He is still saying we are coming out. And you will come out in Jesus Name. God is saying to you, be still and know that I am God. For some of us, we have gone through seasons that the best way to describe it is, a parched land [a drought]. I am here to announce to you that the drought season is over in the Name of Jesus.
The first thing we learn from Luke 18:1-8 is that the revelation of God, our Father as the Judge makes all the difference in prayer. As we have come to God today, we have come before the Judge of the whole earth. But guess what, He is our Father. If you are going to a courtroom and your father is the judge coupled with the fact that you are in the right. I don’t think you will be scared, you shouldn’t be. ‘One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up’ Luke 18:1. Jesus is saying that this is the purpose of this parable, to show us that God, Our Father, is the Judge when we come to the place of prayer particularly supplication. He says, to show that they should always pray and never give up. Why should we never give up? It is because the Judge is our Father. Why am I not going to give up? Why am I going to believe with all my heart that God is able to do just what He says He would do? Why should I believe that God is going to fulfill every promise He has made to me? It is because God will not give up on you so do not give up on Him.
Prayer: Father, thank You for making the difference in my life, in Jesus Name.
