What Works?

“Then Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work” John 4:34

If you look at the life of the older son and the life of the younger son in Luke 15, one thing is consistent – work! The older son was working in his father’s vineyard, the younger son was applying for work. But one’s works is good works and the others’ works is dead works. It’s possible to be serving God with dead works but it’s also Read the rest of this entry

Prodigal Son – Prodigal Grace

“But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate” Luke 15:22-23.

The only way you can always win with God is to surrender. Surrender! And it is because when you surrender to God you are not the victim, you have not lost; you have actually won. What begins to happen to you when you surrender is victory. Jacob was wrestling with God and God had to break his thighbone. Then he Read the rest of this entry

Favour isn’t Fair

“When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger! I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you” Luke 15:17-18.

Jesus was walking down the road, a whole lot of people were following Him and He got to a place looked up and said, “Zaccheus, today I’m going to eat lunch in your house”. Excuse me! What about those of us who have been following you for ten hours? Is that fair? Zaccheus, a sinner – it is not fair. A young rich man came to Read the rest of this entry

Unexplainable

“You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name” John 15:16

In John 5, this man was lame for thirty-five years. Jesus skipped a lot of people, got to the man and asked him, “Will you be made whole?” And instead of answering the question, the man went on to relate the story of the thirty-eight years of his life. And Jesus said, you know what, get up, take up your bed and walk; and Jesus left the man Read the rest of this entry

Experiencing Jesus

“No power in the sky above or in the earth below – indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord” Rom.8:39.

When you experience Jesus, you experience a full dose of grace and a full dose of truth. He came with a full measure. The challenge with the folks that have a problem with truth is that truth has finality to it. Truth has absoluteness to it; truth is either white or black. But a lot of us enjoy living in the grey area. We really don’t like white Read the rest of this entry

Walk In Fullness

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth… For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” John 1:14&17 [NIV]

The Word of God says that Jesus is full of grace and truth. The Word of God did not say that Jesus has 50% grace and 50% truth. Jesus is full of grace and truth, which means He has 100% grace and 100% truth. Unfortunately, we tilt in either direction as Christians. In fact, we have churches that build their thrust around a particular Read the rest of this entry

Everything

So you have everything when you have Christ, and you are filled with God through your union with Christ. He is the highest Ruler, with authority over every other power” Col.2:10 [TLB, emphasis added].

Jesus is enough for our companionship. God speaks many times but we are actually too busy to hear and listen to Him. He speaks through His Word and He speaks to us directly. God wants to have conversations with us. You don’t need to stay up late just to make free midnight calls talking to strange people at very strange hours Read the rest of this entry

Enough Proof

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantlyJohn 10:10 [KJV]

Christ is sufficient for your health, your healing and your physical wholeness. The Gospel talks about how Jesus just went around healing people. He sees the blind and he heals them. He sees the lame and He heals them. He sees the lepers and He heals them. What is that ailment that you have allowed the devil to use some evil report to sadden you? Sufficient For You

So you have everything when you have Christ, and you are filled with God through your union with Christ. He is the highest Ruler, with authority over every other power” Col.2:10 [TLB].

When you are trusting God for a child and you see people around you dedicating their children, rejoice with them. You are in the right place. Celebrate them, carry their babies, and buy gifts for them. Think of it as a stirring of the waters. Use it to encourage yourself, God will see your faith and it will be a stirring of the water for you. The man at the pool of Read the rest of this entry

You Don’t Lose

How foolish can you be? After starting your Christian lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?” Gal.3:3.

“Oh, foolish Galatians! Who has cast an evil spell on you? For the meaning of Jesus Christ’s death was made as clear to you as if you had seen a picture of his death on the cross” Gal.3:1. When we take our eyes off Jesus, when He ceases to be enough for us, we’ll find ourselves going back to the things He delivered us from. The Bible says ye are gods, so let us Read the rest of this entry
