Your Attitude

Prov.28:1 “The wicked flee when no man pursues them, but the [uncompromisingly] righteous are bold as a lion.” (AMPC)

It is a misnomer for you to be a child of God and you are afraid that your boss is going to fire you. While I am all for you respecting your boss, but your life is not in his or her hands. So what if he or she fires you? If God allows it then God has a bigger door for you. Read the rest of this entry

Righteous Stand

Prov.28:1 “The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.” (NIV, emphasis added)

Over the next few days, we are going to be taking bold steps in life. “The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion” does not mean there are no bold wicked people, and it does not mean there are no timid righteous people. Some people are wicked and are bold about it. Read the rest of this entry

Appraisal

Genesis 22:1-2 “Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith…  “Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.”

Spiritual things are not subject to people’s preferences. If you pay the price, you will be unstoppable. There is a classic story in Genesis 22:1-19 (please read), Abraham heard God say he should take his son, his only son whom he loves, Isaac, and sacrifice him to God. Read the rest of this entry

The Price

Psalm 75:6-7 “This I know: the favour that brings promotion and power doesn’t come from anywhere on earth, for no one exalts a person but God, the true judge of all. He alone determines where favour rests. He anoints one for greatness and brings another down to his knees” (TPT)

We will kick off today’s devotional still looking at the experience I shared in yesterday’s devotional. God told me to give a certain amount to a couple, which I did not have. However, my mind went to a pair of suede shoes I had, and I knew what God required of me. Read the rest of this entry

Will You?

Ps.50:10-12 “For all the animals of the forest are mine, and I own the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird on the mountains, and all the animals of the field are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for all the world is mine and everything in it.”

What are you sacrificing today that most people will not sacrifice so that you can live tomorrow as few people will? What are you sacrificing? If you cannot answer that question, it means that you are currently living a mediocre life, an average life, and tomorrow is going to be as average. Read the rest of this entry

In Obedience

John 2:5 “But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

Righteousness and Single-mindedness are the two things that must be in place for us to take bold steps towards God. We have dealt extensively in days past with righteousness and yesterday we began to look at single-mindedness first in prayer. Yesterday we looked at the examples of Joshua and Elijah. In Prayer

1 Kings 17:1 “Now Elijah, who was from Tishbe in Gilead, told King Ahab, “As surely as the Lord, the God of Israel, lives—the God I serve—there will be no dew or rain during the next few years until I give the word!”

Jesus is not just pleading for mercy when it comes to us, Jesus is pleading for justice. It is unjust to punish the same sin twice; Jesus already received the full punishment for our sin on the cross of cavalry. Jesus is saying to God, ‘You have to be just with them; look at Me I died for them. Read the rest of this entry

In Christ Alone

1 Jn.1:10 If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.”

Everyone born of a woman is born a sinner, but when you come to Christ your sin is forgiven. Once and for all God saves you from the penalty of sin. God also saves you from the power of sin; while it is once and for all, it is on the level you are in. Read the rest of this entry

The Blood

Jude 1:24 “Now, to the one with enough power to prevent you from stumbling into sin[a] and bring you faultless before his glorious presence to stand before him with ecstatic delight.” (TPT)

We start today’s devotional by delving deeper into 1 John 1 from yesterday. We are still looking at the two things that must be in place for us to take bold steps towards God and they are righteousness and single-mindedness. Read the rest of this entry

Come Clean

James 4:8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” (NRSV, emphasis added)

What comes to your mind when you think about God? Someone said, ‘What comes to mind when we think about God is the most important thing about us.’ So, what comes to your mind when you think about God? Read the rest of this entry
