Ambassador

1 Cor.15:19 (AMPC) “If we who are [abiding] in Christ have hope only in this life and that is all, then we are of all people most miserable and to be pitied.”

Christianity is not a fun fair. We are grateful to be on God’s side, and that our lives are not limited to this world alone. We have a hope of eternal life, everlasting life with God. Our decisions cannot be based on this world Read the rest of this entry

Needing Alignment?

Jer.23:24 “Can anyone hide from me in a secret place? Am I not everywhere in all the heavens and earth?” says the Lord.

Daniel and his friends were far from home and could have rationalized any behavior by telling themselves, “No one will know”. So far from the temple in Jerusalem, they could have reasoned, “God will not see”. What can we Read the rest of this entry

Master’s Plan

Mark 14:36 “Abba, Father,” he cried out, “everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”

Does life always turn out good for people that remain faithful to God? In this story of Daniel and his friends, it turned out good. Some people would say, what about the disciples of Jesus? Even though they died horrible Read the rest of this entry

God Aligned

Luke 16:8 “…And it is true that the children of this world are more shrewd in dealing with the world around them than are the children of the light.”

The painful reality of Daniel’s time and ours is that a lot of Christians are not willing to pay the price required for their great destiny. I have had Read the rest of this entry

Beware!

John 8:32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Part of knowing who you are is knowing what you stand for and knowing what you believe. A lot of us need to stop and think about what we actually believe and stand for. Growing up, it was drilled into us to always Read the rest of this entry

Word Not World!

Rom.12:Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

Babylon had and still has two main objectives; the first is to change your identity and the second is to change your worldview. The Babylon system of thinking was forced upon Daniel and his friends in much the same way our Read the rest of this entry

God not “god”

2 Chron.7:14 (AMPC, with emphasis) “If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.”

The truth is that God’s heart is for His people to be called by His Name. As children of God, our names [our identities] have to be rooted in God. Read the rest of this entry

In The Name

Gen.17:4 “This is my covenant with you: I will make you the father of a multitude of nations! What’s more, I am changing your name. It will no longer be Abram. Instead, you will be called Abraham, for you will be the father of many nations

As we press in further in our study of Daniel, we trust that God will intensify His presence with us in Jesus Name. God is delivering things to us in this season, particularly to those in business, Read the rest of this entry

Capacity Quotient

Dan.2:20 “He said, “Praise the name of God forever and ever, for he has all wisdom and power. 21 He controls the course of world events; he removes kings and sets up other kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars. 22 He reveals deep and mysterious things…

We will kick off today’s devotional with our final thought from yesterday which is: when we know God and understand that He is full of wisdom and full of power, and that He orchestrates the course of events, we are better Read the rest of this entry

Get Understanding

Hab. 1:13 But you are pure and cannot stand the sight of evil. Will you wink at their treachery? Should you be silent while the wicked swallow up people more righteous than they?

Prophet Habakkuk was one of Daniel’s contemporaries. Habakkuk was part of the families that were taken to Babylon and he struggled to understand God’s judgement. Israel is God’s people, yes, they had done wrong, but they Read the rest of this entry
