Two Things
2 Cor. 8:7 “Since you excel in so many ways—in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusiasm, and your love from us—I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving.”
How can my life give thanks to God? By Singing From My Heart, by Thanking God In Prayer, by Telling Others The Good News. Fourthly, by Giving An Offering Back To God. Thanks and giving go together, that is why it is called thanksgiving. Read the rest of this entry
Who He Is, II
Ps. 145:3 “The Lord is GREAT. He is worthy of our praise. No one can understand how great he is.” (ICB, emphasis added).
The first reason why my life and your life should give God thanks is Because Of Who God Is. God is GREAT, God is HOLY, God is LOVE, and God is JUST. Does that mean God is fair or is God unfair? Some people think that God is unfair even though they are afraid to say it for fear of being Read the rest of this entry
Who He Is, I
Ps.50:23 “… giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honours me.” (emphasis added)
When you are grateful, you cannot really be anxious. When you actually worship, you cannot be worrying, they cannot coexist. You have to choose one, is it going to be worry or is it going to be worship? Is it going to be anxiety or is it going to be gratitude? Read the rest of this entry
Gladly Overlook
Isaiah 43:16 &18 “I am the Lord, who opened a way through the waters, making a dry path through the sea… “But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.”
What lies ahead of you will make what you think you have today like nothing, like absolutely nothing. Therefore, you and I need to bury complacency. During the question-and-answer session of the Financial Dominance Course on the GFH Academy, one of the questions raised was, what is the Read the rest of this entry
The Nine, V
Luke 17:15-16 “One of them, when he realized that he was healed, turned around and came back, shouting his gratitude, glorifying God. He kneeled at Jesus’ feet, so grateful. He couldn’t thank him enough—and he was a Samaritan.” (MSG)
Today, we will pick up from our final thought from yesterday which is, what God did for you, He did for you personally, and not do for someone else. Jesus died on the cross of calvary for you, for me. It is just like having four children and three of them are responsive to you, they care about you, and they Read the rest of this entry
The Nine, III
Ps.103:2-5 “Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!”
In our search, so far, we have found four out of nine. The one who listened to the voice of doubt. The one who said his miracle was a coincidence. The one who said it was too little too late and the one who said Jesus was just doing His job. Appreciation is big. Read the rest of this entry
The Nine, II
Luke 17:17-18 “Jesus: Didn’t all ten receive the same healing this fellow did? Where are the other nine? Was the only one who came back to give God praise an outsider?” (Voice)
Yesterday, we found two out of nine; the one who listened to the voice of doubt and the one who said his miracle of healing was a coincidence. Third, the one who said, ‘too little, too late’. Unbelievable excuse and it was what actually held him back. Read the rest of this entry
Giving Thanks
Psalm 50:23 “But giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honours me. If you keep to my path, I will reveal to you the salvation of God.”
Luke 17:11-19 “As Jesus continued on toward Jerusalem, he reached the border between Galilee and Samaria. As he entered a village there, ten men with leprosy stood at a distance, crying out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy. One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!” He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done. This man was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And Jesus said to the man, “Stand up and go. Your faith has healed you.” (emphasis added). Read the rest of this entry
The Trigger
John 10:18 “No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this is what my Father has commanded.”
To multiply, the first thing Jesus teaches us from the example in Luke 9:12-17 is to organize and the second thing Jesus teaches us is that it has to be blessed before it can multiply. Yesterday, we looked at Heb.7:6-8 [please read] and we saw that even though Abraham was the one with the promise, Read the rest of this entry
The Celebration
Mark 2:12 “And the man jumped up, grabbed his mat, and walked out through the stunned onlookers. They were all amazed and praised God, exclaiming, “We’ve never seen anything like this before!” [emphasis added].
Jesus was still there teaching, so why was the man who had just been healed going home or where was he going? His friends were on the roof throughout, they did not climb down the ropes they used to lower their friend. Read the rest of this entry
