Benefit?

2 Cor.4:17-18 (Voice) “You see, the short-lived pains of this life are creating for us an eternal glory that does not compare to anything we know here. So we do not set our sights on the things we can see with our eyes… Instead, we focus on the things we cannot see, which live on and on.”

Love Unconditional

Eph.2:4-5 “But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) (emphasis added)

Imagine a reckless driver doing one hundred and twenty kilometres per hour on a road with a speed limit of fifty kilometres per hour. In his recklessness, he knocks down and kills a little boy. Read the rest of this entry

Grace= Mercy + Favour

Eph.2:4-5 (NRSV) “But God, who is rich in mercy, out of the great love with which he loved us even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved” (emphasis added)

Eph.2:4 (NRSV, emphasis added) “But God, who is rich in mercy…”  What is mercy? Mercy is not getting what you deserve. Does anyone go to bed praying and pleading for God’s judgment in their lives? Read the rest of this entry

Forgive & Accept

Matt. 6:12 “and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. 13 And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one”

Foretold & Fulfilled!

Rev.19:10 “Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said, “No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers and sisters who testify about their faith in Jesus. Worship only God. For the essence of prophecy is to give a clear witness for Jesus.”

Response-ability

Luke 23:32 “Two others, both criminals, were led out to be executed with him. 33 When they came to a place called The Skull, they nailed him to the cross. And the criminals were also crucified—one on his right and one on his left.”

The fact that Jesus came, and Jesus associated with the low lives is not an automatic salvation for them. The fact that Jesus has paid the price for us does not make salvation automatic. Read the rest of this entry

Cut Lose

John 8:32 “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” 36 So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.”

For us to live free, we must experience three dimensions of freedom; freedom from the Pain of Yesterday, freedom from the Pressure of Today, and freedom from the Pessimism of Tomorrow. Read the rest of this entry

Hessed

Ps.63:3 (NKJV) “Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You.”

The other sheepdog – mercy is the Hebrew word Hesed [when the person from whom I have a right to expect nothing, gives me everything]. Theologians tell us that it is one of the richest words in Hebrew. Read the rest of this entry

Isa.40:31 “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (KJV, with emphasis).
