Little Or Much?
“But Jesus said to the woman, your faith has saved you; go (enter) into peace [in freedom from all the distress that are experienced as the result of sin]” Luke 7:50 [AMP]
Luke 7 records an amazing story of the woman who washed Jesus’ feet with her tears, wiped it with her hair, and anointed it with very expensive oil from her alabaster box. Everyone around Jesus at the time was indignant; they were wondering why she would be wasting that much resource on Jesus when people are hungry? Have you Read the rest of this entry
Enough With The Excuses!
“For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom” 2 Cor.3: 17
The reason you are still battling with that sin which is keeping you bound, is the excuse you are giving. The more you excuse it, the more you are incapacitated by it. Academically, the reason you have not passed your examinations is because you are giving excuses. Who says nobody in your family ever succeeds in math? Read the rest of this entry
Truth Revealed
“His father said to him, ‘Look, dear son, you have always stayed by me, and everything I have is yours. We had to celebrate this happy day. For your brother was dead and has come back to life! He was lost, but now he is found!” Luke 15:31-32.
You need to understand the truth shown to the older son, “His father said to him, ‘Look, dear son, you have always stayed by me, and everything I have is yours” Luke 15:31. What the father was saying in essence is that, everything I have even the fattened cow that was killed is yours. In other words, your brother pretty much Read the rest of this entry
Asking or Answering?
“Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” Matt.18:21
The question on forgiveness. It is pivotal that Jesus answered the question on forgiveness. Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” Have you met people that ask a question and offer the answer? Peter said seven times? In other words, “Jesus, don’t go past seven please”. Then Read the rest of this entry
Refuse To Be Offended I
“And blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) is he who takes no offense at Me and finds no cause for stumbling in or through Me and is not hindered from seeing the Truth” Matt.11:6 [AMP]
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” Rom.10:17 [NKJV]. Take note, faith comes by hearing and hearing. You will always require faith to walk with God. And the faith you require comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. Which is why we always advise that whether you attended the service or not, get the message on CD or in MP3 and listen to the Word over and over. Let it fire up your Read the rest of this entry
Heart Check VII
‘Then David accepted her present and told her, “Return home in peace. I have heard what you said. We will not kill your husband.” 1 Sam.25:35
A lot of people vow or make decision to do the wrong thing. Then God in His mercy sends them an Abigail but they will insist on following through with the decision they have made because of pride even to the detriment of their souls.
When I read the story in 1 Samuel 25, I was saying to God that Abigail is not loyal to her husband. How can she say ‘I know Nabal is a wicked and ill-tempered man; please don’t pay any attention to him. He is a fool, just as his name suggests. But I never even saw the young men you sent’ 1Sam.25:25. Or does it not come across as that? But I understood that she was actually saving his life. What loyalty can be greater than that? But she was saying the truth also. Some women are so foolish, truth is stirring them in the face but they refuse to see the truth. Abigail was not just saying those things to flatter David; she believed so much in what she was saying. And Abigail said ‘And when the Lord has done these great things for you, please remember me, your servant!’ 1 Sam.25:31. David must have laughed and left. Abigail got home, Nabal was throwing a party, drinking himself to stupor and she left him. In the morning when the effect of the alcohol had worn off, Abigail told Nabal what David was going to do to him and Nabal had a heart attack just from hearing that David was coming for him. Ten days later, the Bible says that God smote Nabal and he died. Read the rest of this entry
Before and After II
“He healed my eyes, and yet you don’t know where he comes from? Ever since the world began, no one has been able to open the eyes of someone born blind. If this man were not from God, he couldn’t have done it.” Luke 9:30, 32-33
You have a story and I have a story. God wants us to tell our stories for His glory. There was a time that the devil almost killed me with sickness. I took injections everyday for over forty days. That’s to show you how bad it was. But I cried to Jesus and He healed me. I can’t remember the last time I took any injection. That can only be God. Can anyone tell me that Jesus does not exist? What is your Read the rest of this entry
Encourage & Forgive
‘And he set the priests in their charges, and encouraged them to the service of the house of the Lord’ 2 Chro.35:2 [KJV]
This season you can show God’s love by giving a word of encouragement to the discouraged. Everybody can do with a word of encouragement. You will be shocked at the impact a word of encouragement can have even on a man of God. We were created for encouragement. A couple while visiting us shared how they became members of the church I pastor. They actually did not know where to worship on a Sunday morning and somehow stopped at God’s Favourite House. At that worship experience, God gave two specific Read the rest of this entry
Forgiveness
‘Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you’ Eph.4:32.
Forgiveness is easy when you walk in love. In other words, forgiveness is possible when you allow yourself to grow in God. Jesus demonstrated to us that wholeness is achievable through forgiveness. He forgave the sins of the Paralytic man; He forgave the sins of the woman caught in adultery. Many miracles come after forgiveness happens. This season the miracle you desire so badly may just be hinged on your willingness to forgiven. Interestingly, when it comes to forgiveness, people are quick to think that it applies only to when Read the rest of this entry
Be The Peacemaker!
‘Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us’ Rom.5:1.
To connect us with God, there is only one avenue and that is the person of Jesus. Once the vertical peace is sorted out, God expects us to pursue horizontal peace, which is peace between you and the people around you. ‘Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord’ Heb.12:14. Holiness means to follow peace with God. This scripture is saying sort out your vertical and then sort Read the rest of this entry
