John 14:16-17 “The Father will give you another HELPER who will be with you forever! That Helper is the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it doesn’t see or know him. But you know him, because he lives with you and will be in you.” (GW, emphasis added).
The word ‘another’, highlighted in today’s anchor scripture means, another of the same kind, of the same quality. So, we have a life guide in the person of the Holy Spirit. What makes the Holy Spirit incomparable to any city guide is that most city guides were born in the city, Read the rest of this entry

John 16:7 “But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.”
Why would Jesus say it is best for us that He goes away? Is the Holy Spirit better than Jesus? Jesus is the best guide you can ever have; the Apostles had Jesus and when they have any questions, they go to Jesus, and He will explain things to them. Read the rest of this entry
The Right Guide
John 14:16 “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another [a]Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counsellor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever” (AMP)
Imagine the future presents itself as a series of doors, having the right values will help you choose the right door. However, having the right guide will see you through what is on the other side of the door. The truth is that behind the door is a completely new and different city, Read the rest of this entry
Choices
Haggai 1:7 “Think very carefully about your choices.” (Voice)
Over the next few days, we are going to examine the life choices Moses had to make based on the things he valued which led to the greatness that God had for him. And if we make these choices based on the right values, we too will end up with the greatness that God has for His people. Read the rest of this entry
Value System
Haggai 2:15 “Now think carefully about your choices from this point forward…” (Voice)
The choices you make are so powerful and they determine the life you live. One major way of changing anything is to change the value you place on it. You cannot claim to value your finances if you do not place value on the things God has said you should place value on. Read the rest of this entry
Choose Life
Psalm 119:29-30 “Keep me from deceitful ways; be gracious to me and teach me your law. I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I have set my heart on your laws.”
Deuteronomy 30:17-19 “But if you disobey and refuse to listen, and are led away to worship other gods, you will be destroyed. You will not live long in that land across the Jordan that you are about to occupy. I am now giving you the choice between life and death, between God’s blessing or curse, and I call heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Choose life!” (TEV, emphasis added). Remember
Deuteronomy 8:2 “Remember how the Lord your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands.”
You cannot be mighty and be petty at the same time. People who are easily offended are not usually great. People who are easily offended are usually mediocre, average. But you are going to be great, you are not going to be mediocre or average in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Read the rest of this entry
His Glory
Genesis 50:20 “You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.”
We have looked at three of the five things that we need to know, three of the five things that will illuminate our lives. Three of the five things that will solidify our lives and will make us unshakable, unmovable. Three of the five things that will make us rooted and planted even as God wants us to be. Just Pray
Philippians 4:6 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”
Prayer is the difference between what you can achieve by your own strength and what God can achieve by His own strength. When you look at the impossibilities in life, the gap usually is a prayer gap. Apart from offense, another thing that has hindered a lot of people from really praying is going by their feelings. Read the rest of this entry
The Gap
Ephesians 6:18 “Pray in the Spirit at all times. Pray with all kinds of prayers, and ask for everything you need. To do this you must always be ready. Never give up. Always pray for all of God’s people.” (ERV)
Prayer is a conversation; you speak to God, and you are spoken to by God. So, prayer is not just talking, prayer is also listening, and hearing. But God says always pray in the Spirit, never stop praying, never give up. So, when do we listen, and when will we hear Him? Read the rest of this entry
