Receive It

Jeremiah 31:3 “The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you” (NKJV)

Yesterday we began to look at the first of Paul’s seven secrets to defeating discouragement contained in 2 Corinthians 4. And the first secret to defeating discouragement is Never Forget How Much God Loves You. When we focus on how merciful, loving, and kind God is to us, it drives away discouragement. Lovingkindness

Psalm 16:8 “I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.”

2 Corinthians 11:24-28Five different times the Jewish leaders gave me thirty-nine lashes. Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked. Once I spent a whole night and a day adrift at sea. I have travelled on many long journeys. I have faced danger from rivers and from robbers. I have faced danger from my own people, the Jews, as well as from the Gentiles. I have faced danger in the cities, in the deserts, and on the seas. And I have faced danger from men who claim to be believers but are not. I have worked hard and long, enduring many sleepless nights. I have been hungry and thirsty and have often gone without food. I have shivered in the cold, without enough clothing to keep me warm. Then, besides all this, I have the daily burden of my concern for all the churches.” Read the rest of this entry

Your Response, VII

John 15:16 “You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.”

During photoperiodism, pollination and cross-pollination happens, and seeds and fruits are formed. Therefore, in the Name of Jesus, because God’s light is rising upon you today, you are going to bear fruit. You are going to be fruitful in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Read the rest of this entry

The Rain

Isaiah 55:10 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there until they have watered the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater.” (NRSV)

Ps.123:1-3I raise my eyes to fix my gaze on You, for Your throne resides in the heavens. Just as the eyes of servants closely watch the hand of their masters, just as a maid carefully observes the slightest gesture of her mistress, in the same way, we look to You, Eternal One, waiting for our God to pour out His mercy upon us.” (Voice). Goodness

John 21:3&6Simon Peter said, “I’m going fishing.” “We’ll come, too,” they all said. So they went out in the boat, but they caught nothing all nightThen he said, “Throw out your net on the right-hand side of the boat, and you’ll get some…”

It is important to see Peter’s clout in today’s scripture reference. It is what Peter wants to do that everyone else wants to do. If Peter wants to play football, everyone wants to play. If Peter is playing golf, everybody is playing. If Peter is fishing, everyone is fishing. Read the rest of this entry

Good Shepherd

Isa.40:11 “He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart. He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.”

Being spiritual does not mean that you cannot get any value from earthly things. Jesus needed Philip’s local knowledge because they were in Philip’s hometown Bethsaida. Yesterday, we spoke briefly about a time when David also needed to rely on local intelligence even though God had given him a powerful Read the rest of this entry

Big Picture

John 3:28 “You yourselves know how plainly I told you, ‘I am not the Messiah. I am only here to prepare the way for him.’”

When we do not know who we are, we do not know who we are not supposed to be. So, we try to be who we are not supposed to be because we do not know who we are. But when we know who we are, we will know who we are not. Read the rest of this entry

Surrendered

James 5:17 (AMP) “Elijah was a man with a nature like ours [with the same physical, mental, and spiritual limitations and shortcomings], and he prayed intensely for it not to rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months.”

Gal. 5:22-23 “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” (emphasis added). God’s Word is amazingly clear. Who produces the fruit? It is the Holy Spirit. We must remain yielded to Him. Read the rest of this entry

His Fruit

John 14:27 (TPT) “I leave the gift of peace with you—my peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but my perfect peace. Don’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts—instead, be courageous!

God wants you and I to be peaceful; lasting peace is a fruit of the Holy Spirit, God’s gift to us. You may be experiencing intense pressure, but you remain peaceful in your core and the people around you are puzzled. By the grace of God, there is nothing that keeps me up at night, nothing!
