Stay Sharp

Matt.25:2–4 “Five of them were foolish and ill-prepared, for they took no extra oil for their lamps. Five of them were wise, for they took flasks of olive oil with their lamps.” (TPT)

Matt.25:6-9Then suddenly, in the middle of the night, they were awakened by the shout ‘Get up! The bridegroom is here! Come out and have an encounter with him!’ So all the girls got up and trimmed their lamps. But the foolish ones were running out of oil, so they said to the five wise ones, ‘Share your oil with us, because our lamps are going out!’ ‘We can’t,’ they replied. ‘We don’t have enough for all of us. You’ll have to go and buy some for yourselves!'” Read the rest of this entry

All In

Esther 4:15-16 “Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: “Go and gather together all the Jews of Susa and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will do the same. And then, though it is against the law, I will go in to see the king. If I must die, I must die.”

In God, you put all your eggs in one basket, and you hand it over to God. That was what Esther did as we see in our anchor scripture today. Esther put all her eggs in God’s basket. The world says to us, do not put all your eggs in one basket, what if God fails? Read the rest of this entry

Fruiting

Matt.7:20 “Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.”

Gal. 5:22-23 “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” (emphasis added). Just like the growing fruit on a natural tree is visible to everyone, when the fruit of the Spirit is growing in us, it is also visible to everyone. Read the rest of this entry

His Fruit

John 14:27 (TPT) “I leave the gift of peace with you—my peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but my perfect peace. Don’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts—instead, be courageous!

God wants you and I to be peaceful; lasting peace is a fruit of the Holy Spirit, God’s gift to us. You may be experiencing intense pressure, but you remain peaceful in your core and the people around you are puzzled. By the grace of God, there is nothing that keeps me up at night, nothing! Joy & Peace

Gal. 5:22-23 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!”

The joy that overflows, is a component of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. I was reading the work of a renowned theologian Thomas Aquinas, and he said something very profound. He says, “God is happiness by His Essence: for He is happy not by acquisition or participation of something else, but by His Essence. On the other hand, men are happy by acquisition or participation.” Read the rest of this entry

All Aboard!

Gal. 5:22-23 “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” (emphasis added).

Note that Paul says, “fruit” singular which is different from “fruits” plural. When we looked at the gifts of the Holy Spirit, it was “gifts” plural [Word of Knowledge, Word of Wisdom, Prophesy, and so on]. But when Paul talks about the fruit of the Holy Spirit, it is “fruit” singular. Read the rest of this entry

Harmony

James 3:9-10 Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!”

Our final thought from yesterday’s devotional is really big and worthy of repetition because it is so important that we get what James is saying to us. And it is this; exhibiting the gifts of the Holy Spirit and not manifesting the fruit of the Holy Spirit is a misnomer. Read the rest of this entry

By The Spirit V

Acts 16:18 “This went on day after day until Paul got so exasperated that he turned and said to the demon within her, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And instantly it left her.” (emphasis added).

Today, we will start off by concluding on the story in Acts 16. What do you think would have happened if Paul and the others did not discern the source of the girl’s manifestations? Like we said yesterday, it is not every time that God requires us to address such manifestations. However, the gift of discernment of spirits helps you to be spiritually aware. Charisma II

Mark 16:17These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages.”

The first grouping of the Sign Gifts is the Revelational Gifts, and these are the Word of Wisdom, the Word of Knowledge, and the Discerning of Spirits. Discernment of Spirits is telling between the Spirit of God and foul spirits. Read the rest of this entry

The Gift

Luke 2:10 “but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. 11 The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!”

Jesus is saying to us this morning, if you want to give Me a gift, find someone that cannot pay you back and give the person a gift. Visit the hospitals and go to the prisons, let that be your birthday gift to Jesus. Read the rest of this entry
