Expressions I
Job 33:14-17 [LB] “God speaks again and again, in dreams, in visions of the night… as they lie on their beds. He opens their ears in times like that, …gives them wisdom and instruction, causing them to change their minds, …keeping them from pride… and from falling into some trap.”
God speaks to us through expressions of the Holy Spirit. The second expression of the Holy Spirit that we will be looking at is Visions. His Channels VI
Gen.20:3 “But that night God came to Abimelech in a dream and told him, “You are a dead man, for that woman you have taken is already married!”
Channel #7: God speaks through Expressions of the Holy Spirit. God speaks to us through expressions of the Holy Spirit. And this is the one channel. Job 34:29 [MSG] “If God is silent, what’s that to you? If He turns His face away, what can you do about it? But whether silent or hidden, He’s there, ruling,”
It can be really uncomfortable when God is silent. However, it is important that we examine our own lives to ensure we have not done anything that offends Him [Ps.139.24]. Caution!
Ps.139:23-24 “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life”
God speaks through Silence. Sometimes, God’s silence means He is waiting for you to choose but at other times, it could mean that God is upset. Sometimes, when God is upset He keeps quiet. Channel #6: God speaks through Silence: When God is silent it can be really uncomfortable. I went through a season in my life that was as if God kept quiet. I almost went berserk. Prov.20:30 [GN] “Sometimes it takes a painful experience to make us change our ways.”
Channel #5: God speaks to us through Pain. Sometimes, in order to get peoples attention and to get them to slow down and seek Him, God has to resort to letting them go through pain. His Channels III
Rom.1:20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God [with emphasis].
So far we have examined three channels God uses to speak to us. If you are not reading your Bible consistently, if you are not listening to messages over and over again, and if you are not accountable to other believers, you do not have believers that are speaking into your life, you have already missed three main channels God speaks through. Speak Truth!
Prov.27:6 “Wounds from a friend are better than many kisses from an enemy.”
God wants to speak through you. God wants you to be His mouthpiece that would tell people the truth and help to save a life, save a destiny, save a family, save a generation. The problem with us in the twenty first century is that we excuse ourselves by saying, “it is really not my business” or “let everybody mind their own business”. Be Wise
Pro.12:26 “The godly give wise advice to their friends; the wicked lead them astray.”
You have to be true to yourself and accept the fact that everyone, including you, has a blind spot. Otherwise, you will not appreciate the people God puts around you to tell you the truth. When you recognize that God speaks through Other Believers, you are better positioned to listen for His voice in conversations.
