Lazy?
“Then he said, “Now pick up the other arrows and strike them against the ground.” So the king picked them up and struck the ground three times” 2Kings 13:18
So in 2Kings 13:17 we know that God had promised, “…for you will completely conquer the Syrians at Aphek” [emphasis added]. And then in 2Kings 13:19 “…you would have beaten Syria until it was entirely destroyed. Now you will be victorious only three times” [emphasis added]. The question is, “what happened?” How did things turn around so quickly Read the rest of this entry
Count The Cost!
“Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart” Col.4:2
“When you make a promise to God, don’t delay in following through, for God takes no pleasure in fools. Keep all the promises you make to him. It is better to say nothing than to make a promise and not keep it. Don’t let your mouth make you sin. And don’t defend yourself by telling the Temple messenger that the promise you made was a mistake. That would make God angry, and he might wipe out everything you have achieved. Talk is cheap, like daydreams and other useless activities. Fear God instead” Ecc.5:4-7.
Pray!
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” Matt.11:28 [NIV]
Regardless of where you are in your life you need to get up and pray. Like I said, I am the first to admit that I do not fully know how prayer works but I know it works. But then again I really do not need to understand how prayer works I just need to know that if I pray it will work! My grandmother would say, “If something is good, it needs prayers! If something is not good, it also Read the rest of this entry
Get Up!
“ Once after a sacrificial meal at Shiloh, Hannah got up and went to pray. Eli the priest was sitting at his customary place beside the entrance of the Tabernacle” 1 Sam.1:9
Hannah did not allow the lame consolation of Elkanah dampen her pursuit. Hannah did not allow the “deceitful” portion of choice to deceive her into abandoning her pursuit and make her to begin to eat. Some people, even though they are believing God for something, will opt out of corporate spiritual movements because they do not want to stress themselves. Come on! Can you not hold God’s hands Read the rest of this entry
Keys To Effortless Worship II
“But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way” John 4:23
We have established that worship flows from the heart but the question is what kind of heart makes worship effortless?
A joyful heart: “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice” Phil.4:4. The background to this is Paul was imprisoned, flogged, in chains, and he had been stripped of his rights. But Paul could still say, Read the rest of this entry
Know The Enemy I
“The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other… Gal.5:17
Permit me to reiterate our last thoughts from yesterday. God is a Godhead [God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit] and I have inherited His enemies. To fully understand the enemy and how it works you need to know the enemy of the Father, the enemy of the Son, and the enemy of the Holy Spirit. Read the rest of this entry
Spiritual Warfare
“And I will cause hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.” Gen.3:15 [emphasis added].
I am praying that the enemy will be totally neutralized in your life in the Name of Jesus. And everything he can deploy will not work concerning you in Jesus Name. I want to encourage you to read the whole of Genesis 3 because therein began the issue of spiritual warfare. “Then the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this …I will cause hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel” Gen.3:14-15. Read the rest of this entry
Rooted In God
“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me? Jer.32:27 [NKJV]
During my service year in Northern Nigeria, I used to go and pray for hours in some abandoned church hall. I would lie there and pray and I could touch the Presence of God. It was so real. The power of God was overwhelming on me. The villagers of course took note of this man who is always preaching and praying and so one day when one of them was dying they called on me to Read the rest of this entry
Ask & Receive!
“And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word” Acts 4:29 [emphasis added]
Through out this week we are going to be praying bold prayers. I want you to think about your life, what are the bold prayers that you need to be praying right now? We are going to lift up our voices together to heaven and pray those bold prayers and we will see the answers in Jesus Name.
In Unity
“But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” Acts 3:6
If You’re Going To Make A Huge Difference In This World You Have To Learn To Be Bold About Prayer and To Pray Bold Prayers. When Jesus left, all His disciples were filled with boldness and prayed bold prayers. In Acts 3, Peter and John were going to the Temple to pray and they met a cripple man by the gate called Beautiful and the man was begging for money. Peter and John Read the rest of this entry
