Worship Him!

“Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking,  “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him.” Matt.2:1-2

Over the next few days we will be learning about worship. It is my prayer that as we engage daily, the throne of our Heavenly Father will be established in our hearts and lives.

As a believer the act of worship is very significant. Some people love to pray and that is fantastic. I Read the rest of this entry

Most Assuredly

“The Lord who rescued me from the claws of the lion and the bear will rescue me from this Philistine!” Saul finally consented. “All right, go ahead,” he said. “And may the Lord be with you!” 1 Sam.17:37

Our forth response to God’s goodness is we face the future with confidence. God is going to round up this year for you with His goodness. That should give you confidence to face the coming year with the utmost confidence. Some people will devote themselves to complaining and nursing fears about the year that is about to Read the rest of this entry

Test of Devotion

Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other” Deut.4:39 [NIV]

Everything we own is a test of our devotion. And a key thing to devotion is recognizing God as Source and Sovereign. If you are struggling to have consistent devotion with God, check, does your heart really recognize God as your Source and as Sovereign? The key to devotion is every time you go before God, every time you bow before Him, you worship Him, you pray, you have your Read the rest of this entry

Lifestyle Of Worship III

“So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him” Rom.12:1 [MSG].

How does worship become a lifestyle? Intersect your daily routines with your passion for God. And that is best described with the portion of Scripture quoted above. Intersect your daily routines with your passion for God. Mix your life with God. Let your life be mixed with worship. Imagine a blender, put your life into it, add worship, add praise, add Bible Reading, push the button and just blend it all Read the rest of this entry

Lifestyle Of Worship I

“I will praise you seven times a day because all your regulations are just” Ps.119:164

How does worship become a life style? “All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer” Acts 2:42 [emphasis added]. From this passage, the first thing is to commit to weekly worship with other Christians. At least in this time and dispensation our worship times are weekly. But the New Testament Read the rest of this entry

Keys To Effortless Worship IV

Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little” Phil.4:11-12

I know what it is to fast and have nothing but a snack to break my fast. But I eat it and I am happy and nobody knows. Many times the reason our hearts are not flowing with worship is because of discontentment. Paul is saying I know what it is not to have anything and I know what it is to have a lot of things. But whether I have a lot or I do not have a lot, I have learnt to be content because stuff does not Read the rest of this entry

Keys To Effortless Worship III

I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little” Phil.4:12

David had a carefree heart. He was more concerned about God than what people said about him. A carefree heart is not an irresponsible heart or a heart in denial, instead it is a heart that is anchored on the assurance of the love and faithfulness of the Father, and refuses to fret. But instead trusts and thanks God for His Good and perfect will that is there to do us good. I pray that God will empower you to live a Read the rest of this entry

Keys To Effortless Worship II

“But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way” John 4:23

We have established that worship flows from the heart but the question is what kind of heart makes worship effortless?

A joyful heart: “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice” Phil.4:4. The background to this is Paul was imprisoned, flogged, in chains, and he had been stripped of his rights. But Paul could still say, Read the rest of this entry

Keys To Effortless Worship I

“Guard your heart above all else,
for it determines the course of your life” Prov.4:23

You are wired for worship. Your spirit, your soul, and your body are programmed to worship God. If you are not functioning well, then check your worship. It’s as simple as that. Your mobile phone is designed and programmed for communication, through text messages, phone calls, or video calls. If I decide to use a mobile phone to play table tennis, that might work to some extent but the phone will never reach its Read the rest of this entry

Worship II

“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” Matt.18:20 [emphasis added].

The Bible describes us as a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, and a holy nation. And guess what? God has established in you and I through Jesus Christ the priesthood that gives us access to Him. Jesus’ promise to us is that where two or three are gathered in His Name he will show up in their midst. The Presence of Jesus is the power of the church. Read the rest of this entry
