Rom.6:1How should we respond to all of this? Is it good to persist in a life of sin so that grace may multiply even more? 2 Absolutely not! How can we die to a life where sin ruled over us and then invite sin back into our lives?”

Saving faith was done outside of you yet it was for you. Saving faith is not a “performing faith”; you cannot add to what Christ has done. Saving faith is a “receiving faith”. When the life of Christ is received, then it is formed in us and then it performs through us. Read the rest of this entry

Crucified!

Heb.10:26 Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins. 27 There is only the terrible expectation of God’s judgment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies.

Yesterday, we concluded by saying that God did what He did at The Cross for you and outside of you. You had no input in The Cross – none! And this is important because you cannot spoil it. Read the rest of this entry

Complete!

Zec.3:2 “And the Lord said to Satan, “I, the Lord, reject your accusations, Satan. Yes, the Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebukes you. This man is like a burning stick that has been snatched from the fire.”

God has removed all the charges against us and nailed it to The Cross. That alone is something to sit down and ponder about for an entire day. When the enemy brings up charges against you, God is not going to say that you are innocent or that the verdict is not guilty. Read the rest of this entry

Finished Work

Col.2:13 You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. 14 He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross[with emphasis].

Yesterday we talked about three kinds of boasts; man’s boast, God’s boast and satan’s boast. Today we will be learning the two ways of escaping satan’s boast. The first way is to not ever sin from the day you were born till the day you die. Read the rest of this entry

Boast In These

Jer.9:24 “But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

Job 38:Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorant words? Brace yourself like a man, because I have some questions for you, and you must answer them.” How does one boast when his or her ignorance is revealed? Read the rest of this entry

Knowing & Understanding

Isa.53:4 Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. 5 But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.”

I pray that the whipping that Jesus took on the cross will not be in vain in your life. I also pray that the turmoil and storms in your life will be still. Read the rest of this entry

The Fifth SELF

Lu.9:23 “Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.”

We need to take Self-righteousness, Self-confidence, Self-deception and Self-centeredness to The Cross daily and nail it to The Cross. In our marriages, if we successfully arrest and nail self to The Cross, our marriages will be so sweet. Read the rest of this entry

The Third & Fourth SELF

Rom.5:6 “When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.”

The third thing that needs to be nailed to The Cross is Self-deception. We are masters at deceiving ourselves. In fact people actually begin to believe the lies they are telling. God wants you to stop deceiving yourself because self-deception cannot take you far. Read the rest of this entry

The Second SELF

Eph.2:5 That even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)” [with emphasis]

Jesus gave us life and the life is consistent. We need Him every hour, we need Him every day, and we need Him every second. We did not need Him just when we got saved; we need Him now as much as when we came to Christ, if not more. Read the rest of this entry

The First SELF

Eph.2:5That even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)” [with emphasis]

The first “self” that you and I need to take to The Cross so that the power of resurrection can flow through us, is Self-righteousness. One reason we do not experience the fullness of Christ is that we think we are not so bad. Read the rest of this entry
