Ask & Receive!
“And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word” Acts 4:29 [emphasis added]
Through out this week we are going to be praying bold prayers. I want you to think about your life, what are the bold prayers that you need to be praying right now? We are going to lift up our voices together to heaven and pray those bold prayers and we will see the answers in Jesus Name.
In Unity
“But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” Acts 3:6
If You’re Going To Make A Huge Difference In This World You Have To Learn To Be Bold About Prayer and To Pray Bold Prayers. When Jesus left, all His disciples were filled with boldness and prayed bold prayers. In Acts 3, Peter and John were going to the Temple to pray and they met a cripple man by the gate called Beautiful and the man was begging for money. Peter and John Read the rest of this entry
Pray Bold Prayers
“On the day the Lord gave the Israelites victory over the Amorites, Joshua prayed to the Lord in front of all the people of Israel. He said, “Let the sun stand still over Gibeon, and the moon over the valley of Aijalon.” Josh.10:12
When I meet someone for the first time, while shaking the person I ask the Lord who is this person. I do it just for fun and the Lord will tell me who the person is. He is always right and it always surprises me. So I am on a flight and if I am going to be sitting beside a stranger for six to eight hours I want to know who the person is and naturally I ask the Lord. Read the rest of this entry
Bold Prayers
“…at the time …of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near and said, “Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your word” 1 Kings 18:36 [NKJV]
What will happen to the world if God should answer everything on your current prayer list? For some people nothing, only that they will have a bigger house, a more expensive car, or a beautiful wife. Then what? So how do you assess the weight of your prayers? How do you know if you are praying great prayers? Ask yourself this question, what will happen to the world if God answers all your prayers now? This is not to say your prayers up until now have Read the rest of this entry
Stop! Think! Check!
“And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word” Acts 4:29 [emphasis added].
Pastor Craig Groeschel says, “What you pray for reflects what you believe about God”. What you pray for tells the story of what you believe about God. So the question is what have you been praying about? Stop, think, and check! What have I been praying for? Ask yourself, what have I been praying for this season because what you pray for reflects what you believe about God. Your prayers show your heart about God. For some people their prayers have Read the rest of this entry
Be Strong!
“No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?” John 14:6
“Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them. The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them. “Peace be with you,” he said. Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!” John 20:26-27 [emphasis added]. It is possible that there are Thomas’ reading this today. I Read the rest of this entry
Revelation!
“When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am” John.14:3
Do not pay any attention to the people who say Jesus is not coming again. Jesus is coming again. He said it Himself in John 14. So I encourage you to study John 14 even as we continue to learn from the life of Thomas. “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going.” John 14:1-4 Read the rest of this entry
Sincere Heart II
“Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted” Matt.28:16.
Thomas is proof that the biggest doubters can become the strongest believers. Thomas happened to be the disciple that went the farthest among all of the disciples. Thomas went as far as India to preach the gospel, the same Thomas that doubted. But if you look at the disciples and the people that followed Jesus, Thomas was not the only one who doubted. But he was the only one that was sincere enough to put his doubt on display. Even after Jesus had showed Read the rest of this entry
Sincere Heart I
“For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened” Matt.7:8
People look at me and think I have faith but personally I can give you several examples of doubts I have had. My faith is usually a result of my doubts. I doubted the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Before I got saved in my final year of university, I had seen all sorts of born again people. I even heard about people that teach others how to speak in tongues. So when I got saved I just did not want to Read the rest of this entry
God Responds To Doubt
“Mary said to the angel, “How will this happen? I am still a virgin.” The angel said to Mary, “The Holy Spirit will come to you, and the power of the Most High God will cover you. The baby will be holy and will be called the Son of God” Luke 1:34-35
There were questions of doubt, acts of doubt, and statements of doubt but God responded differently to doubt. Do not miss this. God responds differently to doubt based on the sincerity of the doubter. God does not respond the same way to every doubt even though doubt is doubt. God responds differently to doubt based on the honesty and the sincerity of the doubter. In the case of Read the rest of this entry
