Request Granted!

1 Chronicles 4:10 “And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.” (KJV).

Jesus teaches us how to pray in Matthew 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil…” (KJV).It is valid to pray that God will deliver you from evil.

And I pray that The Maker of the Heaven and Earth will deliver you from evil in the Mighty Name of Jesus. 1 Chronicles 4:10And Jabez called on the God of Israel… And God granted him that which he requested.” (KJV). God will grant you that which will request. Not only did God record Jabez’s prayer, but it also pleased Him to end the verse by telling us that He granted Jabez’s request. Again, I declare that God will grant you that which you have requested in the Name of Jesus.

And that was why the Bible says in 1 Chronicles 4:9And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren….” (KJV). This same Jabez became more honourable. The one that nobody wanted to marry, became a very blessed man with a beautiful wife. The one that nobody wanted to employ, became an employer of labour. The one that nobody wanted to be his friend, everybody wanted to be Jabez’s friend. But guess what? In all this, God did not change his name. It is important that we know that when God says to us, I will give you a name, He is saying, I will make your name recognized. That same name that you think is ugly, God will make it recognized. God will make that same name great.

Jabez became a great name in Judah. Jabez became a great name in Israel. Till today, we are still praying the prayer of Jabez. Yet, God did not change his name. In fact, Jabez owned so many properties that he owned an entire city. An entire city was named after Jabez. For some of us reading this today, all you are believing God for is to have your own house. You just want to have your own house, and God is saying, He will give you your house (say Amen). But He is also going to give you an estate of over two hundred houses. Do you receive that? And for the people who can receive that, God is saying, He going to give you an entire city. I receive that in the Name of Jesus. Pastor, is that even in the Bible? Yes, it is in the Bible.

1 Chronicles 2:55 And the families of the scribes which dwelt at Jabez; the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and Suchathites…” (KJV, emphasis added). The same Jabez. God will turn your story around in the Name of Jesus. That “BUT” in your life, God will turn it around for good in the Name of Jesus. God will give you a name! The first thing to do to access the right hand of God is to humble yourself. I want to encourage you to surrender your life to Jesus today.

Prayer: Father, please bless me and extend my territory. Let Your hand be with me and guard me from harm so I will not experience or cause pain, that evil will not be found in me, in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen!
