Pr. 12:25 “Worry can rob you of happiness.” [GN]
Fear paralyses potential, fear ruins relationships, and #3: Fear Hinders Happiness. David says in Ps.55:2 “I am worn out by my worries.” More people today are tired from worrying than from work. The reason a lot of people are lethargic is because of worrying themselves out. Instead of working, you are worrying. People think you are working but you are actually worrying, worrying about the work.
Set Free
Josh.1:9 “This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Caution! Fear ruins relationships. A lot of bosses stifle the creativity of their people because they are afraid. They are afraid that if they allow the creativity to flourish, those people may take over their jobs. And such people stand on one spot, waiting to stop the creativity of others. Instead, let others flourish and free yourself to also develop and flourish.
A lot of parents cannot let go of their children because they are afraid. I know someone that built a house like a campus with living Read the rest of this entry
Limiting Fear
Ps.112:7 “They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them. 8 They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly”
Apart from paralyzing potential, the second thing fear does is: Fear Ruins Relationships. Fear can actually destroy relationships. In fact, nothing destroys relationships faster than fear. It was fear that destroyed Adam’s relationship with God. Gen. 3:10 “. . . I was afraid and hid from you…” [GN, with emphasis]. In other words, Adam was saying, “I was afraid and I damaged my relationship with You”. Yes, Adam had disobeyed but it was fear that caused him to hide from God instead of running to God. I pray that you and I will Read the rest of this entry
Open The Door
Psalm 34:4 “I prayed to the Lord and He answered me; He freed me from all my fears.” [GN, with emphasis]
I pray that in God’s Presence today, the Lord Himself will free you from all your fears, in Jesus Name. David did not say that God delivered him from a few of his fears or from his major fears and left out the minor ones. David said that God delivered him from all his fears. I am praying again that God will free us from all our fears, in Jesus Name.
Fear does a lot of damage. The first major damage is – Fear Paralyzes Potential. Fear, when we give in to it, has the power to limit our Read the rest of this entry
Banish Fear!
1 John 4:18 “Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear…” [with emphasis]
God is going to open doors before us in this season [say amen]. And God expects us to exploit every one of those openings. However, one of the greatest enemies of exploitation is fear. God is set to deal conclusively with fear in our lives in this season; so, please open your heart to God. God, our Father, has only one remedy for fear and that is to cast it out [banish it]. God says that there is no fear in love but perfect love casts out fear [banishes fear]. There is no fear in love. In other words, love and fear cannot cohabit, you know. Read the rest of this entry
The Power
Rom.4:17 “…Abraham believed in the God… 18 Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!” [with emphasis]
Abraham kept hoping even when everything was speaking contrary- his body was speaking contrary, his wife’s body was speaking contrary, and even his culture was speaking contrary. Abraham’s friends must have had a field day mocking him, – from Abram [exalted father] to Abraham [father of nations] and still no children; he must have been the subject of every joke.
Even though everything was speaking contrary, Abraham believed and maintained a single line of command. If God has said it Read the rest of this entry
Single Minded
Ex.17:10 Joshua did exactly as Moses had instructed him to do…[Voice] 13 As a result, Joshua overwhelmed the army of Amalek in battle [NLT, with emphasis]
In your business, maintain a single line of command. In your home, it must be a single line of command. In your life, it must be a single line of command. Joshua could have challenged Moses instruction, “Why do I have to be the one to risk getting killed on the battle field? Let us switch places, you go and fight and give me the rod of God and I will stand on the mountain.” But who determined the victory, was it Joshua’s militancy or Moses on the hill? Aaron and Hur could have said to Moses, “Now that your hands are tired, it Read the rest of this entry
Force Multiplier
Ex.17: 10 “Joshua did exactly as Moses had instructed him to do. He gathered the strongest men he could find and fought against the soldiers of Amalek. Meanwhile, Moses, Aaron, and Hur climbed to the top of the hill” [with emphasis]
The Power to Prevail is Multiplied in Community. Ex.17:9 “Moses called for a young leader named Joshua. Moses (to Joshua): Select some of our best men, and go fight against the soldiers of Amalek…” [with emphasis]. Joshua could not go and fight all by himself. Moses did not expect Joshua to go alone. Joshua needed to attend to this assignment with a team and that was exactly what he did. Even Moses did not go up on the hill alone.
Take Action II
Ex.17: 11 “It happened that whenever Moses raised his hand, the battle went well for Israel; but whenever he lowered his hand to rest, Amalek began to win”.” [Voice, with emphasis].
Moses took action. The enemy has spoken negativity concerning you and you are saying perhaps they do not mean it? Do yourself a favour and respond. There are two types of responses demonstrated in Exodus 17:8-13 [please read] that I want us to learn from: a. the tactical response and b. the strategic response. Yesterday I shared an experience with you of a deliverance session initiated by God and how I became ill afterwards. Going to the hospital was a tactical response and setting up my watch in the place of prayer, was a Read the rest of this entry
Take Action I
Ex.17:9 “Moses called for a young leader named Joshua. Moses (to Joshua): Select some of our best men, and go fight against the soldiers of Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand at the crest of that hill overlooking the battlefield with God’s staff in my hand” [Voice, with emphasis].
The beauty about God’s Word is that the more you engage it, the more it engages you and the more it accomplishes in and through you. Please read Exodus 17:8-13. The second thing we see is that the Power to Prevail is released when you Take Action. You are the general of your life and great generals take action. Moses did not just wait for Amalek. Moses took action and initiated the battle against the Amalekites.
