Revelation!
“When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am” John.14:3
Do not pay any attention to the people who say Jesus is not coming again. Jesus is coming again. He said it Himself in John 14. So I encourage you to study John 14 even as we continue to learn from the life of Thomas. “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going.” John 14:1-4 Read the rest of this entry
Sincere Heart II
“Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted” Matt.28:16.
Thomas is proof that the biggest doubters can become the strongest believers. Thomas happened to be the disciple that went the farthest among all of the disciples. Thomas went as far as India to preach the gospel, the same Thomas that doubted. But if you look at the disciples and the people that followed Jesus, Thomas was not the only one who doubted. But he was the only one that was sincere enough to put his doubt on display. Even after Jesus had showed Read the rest of this entry
Sincere Heart I
“For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened” Matt.7:8
People look at me and think I have faith but personally I can give you several examples of doubts I have had. My faith is usually a result of my doubts. I doubted the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Before I got saved in my final year of university, I had seen all sorts of born again people. I even heard about people that teach others how to speak in tongues. So when I got saved I just did not want to Read the rest of this entry
God Responds To Doubt
“Mary said to the angel, “How will this happen? I am still a virgin.” The angel said to Mary, “The Holy Spirit will come to you, and the power of the Most High God will cover you. The baby will be holy and will be called the Son of God” Luke 1:34-35
There were questions of doubt, acts of doubt, and statements of doubt but God responded differently to doubt. Do not miss this. God responds differently to doubt based on the sincerity of the doubter. God does not respond the same way to every doubt even though doubt is doubt. God responds differently to doubt based on the honesty and the sincerity of the doubter. In the case of Read the rest of this entry
Expressions Of Doubt
“They told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he replied, “I won’t believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side.” John 20:25 [emphasis added].
A lot of us encounter Thomas in Scripture and we think how could he have doubted and for this reason we do not really respect him. But the truth is that Thomas is to be respected and I am going to show you. The issue of doubt is common to man. If you check scripture it is filled with great people that God has used. People that have done great things for God but who have to wrestle with Read the rest of this entry
In-between
“One of the twelve disciples, Thomas (nicknamed the Twin), was not with the others when Jesus came” John.20:24 .
In comes Didymus, the doubting Thomas. His original name was Yehuda or Judah, depending on the text. So where did he get Didymus from? Thomas was a nickname, the same way Simon was nicknamed Cephas Peter the rock. Yehuda was nicknamed Didymus, which means the twin, double minded. In one person there are two people – doubting Thomas. So from generation to generation his nickname stuck. Even when they gave account of the Read the rest of this entry
Do Not Doubt!
“No, even if everyone else is a liar, God will always do what he says. As the Scriptures say about him, “You will be proved right in what you say, and you will win when people accuse you” Rom.3:4 [ERV]
“What if some did not believe and were without faith? Does their lack of faith and their faithlessness nullify and make ineffective and void the faithfulness of God and His fidelity [to His Word]? By no means! Let God be found true though every human being is false and a liar, as it is written, That You may be justified and shown to be upright in what You say, and prevail when You are judged [by sinful men]” Rom.3:3-4 [AMP]. Your doubt does not Read the rest of this entry
Doubt
“And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief” Matt.13:58
Doubt is something that cripples the work of God in our lives. Doubts limit the acts and the actions of God in our lives. God wants to do exceedingly abundantly above all we can ever ask or imagine. When we begin to doubt God, we are placing a limit on Him even though He cannot be limited. But as far as we are concerned we are limiting Him when we doubt Him. Jesus as much as He was all God and had all the power in heaven and on earth couldn’t do Read the rest of this entry
Called Out, Stand Out!
“It was by faith that Moses, when he grew up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose to share the oppression of God’s people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin” Heb.11:24-25
What is Moses’ example? Moses’ example is do not align with Egypt. Do not align with Egypt; the life of compromise always doesn’t count. Everyone that lives a life of compromise will end up living a worthless life. The life that will count is the life that stays true to its mission. Moses was not just raised in Egypt, he was raised in the palace. Meaning he had access to best education, the best chariot, gold, silver, and anything he could ask for. But Moses Read the rest of this entry
Faith At Its Peak
“And so a whole nation came from this one man who was as good as dead—a nation with so many people that, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore, there is no way to count them” Heb.11:12
What is Abraham’s example? In Abel’s example faith puts God first, in Enoch’s example faith walks with God, in Noah’s example faith does what God says. In Abraham’s example faith waits patiently on God. And that is ironic, in fact, that is like a misnomer. Faith waits patiently on God. Faith is action so how can faith wait patiently? The irony of faith is that faith is at its peak when it is patient. Is that Scriptural? Yes and I will show you Read the rest of this entry
