First Forget

Isa.43:18-19 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.  See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. (NIV, emphasis added)

Isaiah 43:15-18I am the Lord, your Holy One, Israel’s Creator and King. I am the Lord, who opened a way through the waters, making a dry path through the sea. I called forth the mighty army of Egypt with all its chariots and horses. I drew them beneath the waves, and they drowned, their lives snuffed out like a smouldering candlewick. “But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.” Read the rest of this entry

Trustworthy & True

Psalm 111:7 “All God accomplishes is flawless, faithful, and fair, and his every word proves trustworthy and true.” (TPT)

There are things that God wants to do with you that sound crazy. There are also things that God has told you to do for Him that look crazy to you. Are you going to trust God, take the step and look like an idiot? Read the rest of this entry

Idiōtēs

Acts 4:13 “When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. (NIV, emphasis added)

In other words, the only significant thing about Peter and John was that they had been with Jesus. These men were unschooled and ordinary, yet they were doing amazing things, extraordinary things. Read the rest of this entry

Only Jesus

Philip.3:8 “Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ”

In God’s Favourite House and in every church where God’s people worship, we must be big on celebrating our God and celebrating the things He is doing with us and through us in the community of faith that God has called us to. Read the rest of this entry

Worship Happens When…

John 4:22-23 “You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship… But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.”

2 Sam.6:20 “…Michal …said, ‘How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, disrobing in the sight of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar fellow would!’ (NIV). 2 Sam.6:21-22 “David said to Michal, ‘It was before the Lord, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house… I will celebrate before the Lord. I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes. But by these slave girls you spoke of, I will be held in honour.’” (NIV). This is so huge! I urge you to spend some time just meditating on it. Read the rest of this entry

Worship Stance, III

2 Sam.6:21 “David said to Michal, ‘It was before the Lord, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house when he appointed me ruler over the Lord’s people Israel. I will celebrate before the Lord.” (NIV, emphasis added).

Every time a king is in procession, they usually have someone [a vulgar person] that plays the fool [a buffoon] that goes in front of the king dancing like a mad person, a jester. Read the rest of this entry

Worship Stance, II

1 Chr.13:14 “The ark of God remained with the family of Obed-Edom in his house for three months, and the Lord blessed his household and everything he had.’” (NIV)

2 Sam.6:20On David’s return, he wanted to bestow good favour on his household, but Michal, the daughter of Saul, came out to meet him… (sarcastically) The king has distinguished himself today in front of his servants’ maids. He revealed quite a lot, just as the lowest of the low might expose himself” (VOICE). Stop and picture this for a moment. You are coming from having an amazing time of worship and fellowship with God. You are charged up and taking that atmosphere to your home and then the first thing that greets you is sarcasm from the very people you are going to bless. How would you respond? David did not say, ‘You this woman, you are going to see my red eye today!’ I am sure that Michal’s attitude was not strange to David because he was not shocked. David did not let her sarcasm stop him from bestowing good favour on his household.

Your walk with God must affect your household. If you have a walk with God that is not affecting your family, something is wrong with that. If you have a walk with God that is not impacting your children positively, something is definitely wrong with that. Unfortunately, a lot of Pastor’s children do not want to hear anything about church or have anything to do with God. And it because their parents who are Pastors did not take the same attitude into their homes. Yet, we are also grateful for all of the Pastor’s children who are in church, actively engaging in true worship. David returned home after sacrificing to God and blessing God’s people, to bless his household. God expects us, as true worshippers, to take it back home and be consistent. Bless your home, bless your sons and daughters. Be the priest; take God’s Word to your household, take God’s blessings to your family. Even if they despise you, take it to them anyway. You have a duty to take God’s Word and blessings to your household. Even if they do not respect the prophet, still take it to them because that is your calling.

True worship happens When I Humble Myself Before God In Celebration. 2 Sam.6:20 “When David returned home to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him and said, ‘How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, disrobing in the sight of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar fellow would!’ (NIV, emphasis added). Kings have robes, royal garments. David did not rush home to change, he disrobed in front of everybody. It can even be offensive, obviously to his wife, because that is the natural response. However, sometimes you need to be spiritual and ignore what is supposed to be a natural response. David disrobed publicly and wore an ephod as in the inserted image.

Prayer: Father, I pray that my walk with You and my work for You will impact my entire camp positively for the Kingdom of God, in Jesus Name. Amen!

Worship Stance, I

2 Sam.6:18-19 “Then he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of heaven and gave a present to everyone—men and women alike—of a loaf of bread, some wine, and a cake of raisins. When it was all over, and everyone had gone home” (TLB)

Today’s anchor scripture is a demonstration of letting your worship flow into your words and deeds. Even though David had sacrificed after every six steps, he went further to sacrifice again when the Ark of God entered Jerusalem. Read the rest of this entry

I Will

Ps.108:1-3 “My heart is confident in you, O God; no wonder I can sing your praises with all my heart! Wake up, lyre and harp! I will wake the dawn with my song.  I will thank you, Lord, among all the people. I will sing your praises among the nations.” (emphasis added)

David is teaching us something very crucial about active worship in today’s anchor scripture which is, sometimes you need to tell yourself to get up and praise God. There will be times that you will need to command yourself to be active in worship. Read the rest of this entry

Engaged

2 Sam. 6:15 “So David and all the people of Israel brought up the Ark of the Lord with shouts of joy and the blowing of rams’ horns (trumpets).” (emphasis added).

True worship happens When I Take Extreme Measures To Do It Right. True worship happens When I Get Physically Involved [With My Body]. Thirdly, true worship happens When I Let The Music Move Me Into God’s Presence. Read the rest of this entry
