Voice Gate

John 10:11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep.”

Even as He lies down to be the door, so He lays down His life for the sheep. Every night the shepherd lies down and becomes a living gate, he knows that he may never see the next day. But he would rather die protecting his sheep than have a wolf come in. Read the rest of this entry

The Gate

Heb.13:20 “Now may the God of peace—who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood”

Jesus is the Shepherd of our souls and He is the great Shepherd of the sheep. When you read John 10:1-42, the two things that jump at us from this passage of scripture about our Shepherd are;

#1. John 10:2But the one who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.” The shepherd enters through the gate. He is the legitimate owner of your soul and He enters through the gate. Everyone else that tries to enter through the window or scale the fence is a thief. Read the rest of this entry

Stance

1 Peter 5:6-7 “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” (NKJV]

John 9:35-38 “…Do you believe in the Son of Man?” The man answered, “Who is he, sir? I want to believe in him.” “You have seen him,” Jesus said, “and he is speaking to you!” “Yes, Lord, I believe!” the man said. And he worshiped Jesus.” This speaks of the Lordship of Jesus. Man’s Way vs. God’s Way

Mark 7:7-8 “Their worship is a farce, for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God.’ For you ignore God’s law and substitute your own tradition.”

John 9:16 “Some of the Pharisees said, “This man Jesus is not from God, for he is working on the Sabbath…” (emphasis added). It is interesting that as part of their laws, the Pharisees actually forbade spitting on the Sabbath. Read the rest of this entry

The Angel

Judges 6:21 “Then the Angel of the Lord put out the end of the staff that was in His hand, and touched the meat and the unleavened bread; and fire rose out of the rock and consumed the meat and the unleavened bread. And the Angel of the Lord departed…” (NKJV, emphasis added).

John 8:58Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I AM!” What was Jesus really talking about here? In the Old Testament, the Bible refers to angelic beings using the term an angel of the Lord or an angel from God. Read the rest of this entry

Father’s Spirit

John 8:49-50 “No,” Jesus said, “I have no demon in me. For I honour my Father—and you dishonour me. And though I have no wish to glorify myself, God is going to glorify me. He is the true judge.”

Have you ever been called crazy or a fanatic for holding on to a conviction, maybe you gave your life to Jesus or because you want to follow God to a level that everyone else thinks is unnecessary? Has anyone accused you of mixing madness with your religion? Read the rest of this entry

The Charge

1 Peter 2:16 “For you are free, yet you are God’s slaves, so don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do evil.”

John 8:33But we are descendants of Abraham,” they said. “We have never been slaves to anyone. What do you mean, ‘You will be set free’?” Never been slaves, really? What about the four hundred and thirty years [430 years] in Egypt? If it was for ten years, then they can forget after some generations. Read the rest of this entry

Defender

John 8:7-8 “They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!” Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust.”

Maybe when Jesus stooped down the second time, He was writing what would happen next. ‘They will drop their stones and run away.’ The Bible says in Prov.20:9 Who can say, “I have cleansed my heart; I am pure and free from sin”? Jesus knew this and He said to them, Read the rest of this entry

Heart Affairs II

John 3:8 “The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.”

In John 8:25, Jesus was saying, ‘Even if I told you again, you would not believe me. Even if I told you what has happened, you still would not believe.’ As you study the Bible, at some point you will have to ask, why doesn’t Jesus just explain to these people plainly? Read the rest of this entry

The Climax & The Christ

John 7:37-38 “On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’”

What do you think the high priests were thinking? ‘We should come to You?’ Some people in the crowds were probably thinking, ‘You from Galilee? There is no single prophet from Galilee! And You are saying we should come to You and You will give us living waters?’ Read the rest of this entry
