Do Right I
Prov.28:20 “The man who wants to do right will get a rich reward. But the man who wants to get rich quick will quickly fail” [LB]
Before you pay for it, pray for it – that is how I run my life. For something as simple as buying a T-shirt, I ask God for it first. I have discovered that shockingly sometimes God does not want me to buy it. Or God may not want me to pay for it from my own pocket. There are many times while I am praying before paying, God says “I will give it to you” and He does. So I do not have to pay for it. Sometimes God says watch this miracle and you walk into the miracle. And somebody you do not know and have never met shows up Read the rest of this entry
First Things First!
Phil.4:19 “God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus” [with emphasis].
God will meet all your needs if you pray and expect an answer. This is very crucial. Yes God wants us to pray but He wants us to go beyond and actually expect the prayer to be answered. Matt.7:11 “If you, though evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him“ [with emphasis]. In forty different places in the New Testament alone God says ask. Why would the all knowing God say ask? The Word of God says, “We have not because we ask Read the rest of this entry
Trust God!
Gen.22:8 “God will provide a sheep for the burnt offering, my son,” Abraham answered…”
The story is told of an old woman carrying a huge basket on her head. A young man driving his truck along the same road saw her and offered her a ride in the back of the truck. As they journeyed along, the man looked in his rear view mirror and saw the old woman still carrying the huge basket on her head. So he stopped and pleaded with her to drop it in the back of the truck. She thanked him for the ride and insisted on carrying the load herself. A lot of us are familiar with this illustration so it makes it easier to explain my next Read the rest of this entry
Stop!
Matt.6:25 “Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?”
What makes for high quality life is not money. I can tell you that for a fact. I have been married for over a decade and by God’s grace I am happily married. I look back to the seasons we did not have and the seasons we have, the truth is money did not determine the times we were happy at all. We are getting happier everyday and it just so happens that we are getting wealthier everyday too. Stop linking the quality of your life to the amount of money you have. So that your life does not pass you by before you discover that it is not Read the rest of this entry
Deceitful Riches
“It’s easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” Lu.18:25
Jesus knows that it can be hard for prosperous people to establish a relationship with God. But you are going to be prosperous, in Jesus Name. And if you think you are prosperous already, I am here to tell you that you have not seen anything yet. I declare to you that you are going to be far more prosperous than you are, in Jesus Name. Why is it hard for prosperous people to establish a thriving relationship with God? There are three main reasons.
Seed Principle
“Money that comes easily disappears quickly, but money that is gathered little by little will grow.” Pr. 13:11 [NCV, emphasis added].
If you do not have savings, you cannot invest and you will not be able to take opportunities when they come. If you do not have a savings even God cannot use you financially because you do not have leverage. God cannot demand a seed from you because you have eaten everything. God asked the children of Israel to give part of the gold they had collected from Egypt to build the temple. The people that had given theirs to the building of the golden calf had nothing to give. Reactive And Proactive
“...Stupid people spend their money as fast as they get it” Pr. 21:20 [GN]
God is saying, stop spending your money as quickly as you earn it; then you are wise. I know this is hard to take in, yet the truth is, if what will pull you out to financial freedom were easy, you would have already done it. When I first read this Scripture, it made me uncomfortable. But I had to let this truth work out greatness in me. I had to deliver myself from impulsive buying. You do not encounter the truth and brush it Read the rest of this entry
Budget!
“...Stupid people spend their money as fast as they get it” Pr. 21:20 [GN]
Every advert is channeled at impulsive buying. Buy now, think later. Do not get me wrong; this is not a campaign against buying things. Everyone has legitimate needs which should be addressed but do not shop impulsively. I sent some phone credit to my wife as a good husband and she loaded it. Then the network multiplied what she loaded by four. And she was excited about the free talk time. I told her the network’s goal was to lure her. She did not agree with Read the rest of this entry
Up, Close & Personal
“Riches can disappear fast… so watch your business interests closely. Know the state of your flocks and herds.” Pr. 27:23-24 [LB, emphasis added].
I made up my mind a long time ago that if I do not have something, I do not need it! You might consider that a little hard but the truth with finances is that if you are not a little hard, you are going to go way down the drain. You need to draw the line at some point. I used to do a lot of marriage counseling and I discovered that in a lot of marriages, one party is kept in the dark in one of these four facts – What we Own…Owe…Earn…& Where it goes. Maybe one party Read the rest of this entry
Financial Control
“Just as the rich rule the poor, so the borrower is servant to the lender” Prov.22:7
Statistics show that over fifty percent of marriages that end up in divorce had to do with money. And guess what? Christians are not immune. Over fifty percent of divorce cases have a financial twist to it. I pray that financial vagueness in every marriage will disappear and beginning from today you will have total financial clarity. To get the facts at any price, there are four facts that you must know about your finances or joint finances as a married couple. #1. Know what you own. #2. Know what you owe. #3. Know what you earn. #4. Know where it is going. Read the rest of this entry
