Fresh & Sweet

John 2:3-4 “The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him, “They have no more wine.” “Dear woman, that’s not our problem,” Jesus replied. “My time has not yet come.” (emphasis added).

The wine supply ran out during the festivities. We see from today’s scripture reference that in this life, the wine or the wine supply can run out. Things cannot always be perfect; sometimes things will not always go as you want it to go. Read the rest of this entry

Watch Out!

Acts 5:3&5 “Then Peter said, ‘Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself.’ As soon as Ananias heard these words, he fell to the floor and died. Everyone who heard about it was terrified.”

In our day, social media will literally explode with this sort of news. Imagine the headline: Pastor snuffs out member’s life for incomplete giving! Or this; Sow correct seed or fall down and die! Bad press! Peter was not in an easy place and I do not envy Peter at all. Read the rest of this entry

The Exchange I

Job 42:5-6 “I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes. I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance.”

Sometimes, because we cannot see very far, we tend to argue with God. We look at our lives and we question God’s heart and His goodness. Why did You not do this and why did You not answer that prayer. Read the rest of this entry

The Charge

Acts 15:32-33 “Then Judas and Silas, both being prophets, spoke at length to the believers, encouraging and strengthening their faith. They stayed for a while, and then the believers sent them back to the church in Jerusalem with a blessing of peace.”

We will begin today’s devotional by staying with the question from yesterday. People do not get answers because they do not stay with the question for long enough. The question is, who is spiritually better because of you? Read the rest of this entry

Let Out!

John 7:38 (NIV)Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.

Streams bring value and streams bring life. Please read Ezekiel 31:4-9 & 47:1-12. Your life will bring value, your life will bring life to people. Read the rest of this entry

Ebenezer!

1 Sam.7:12 Samuel then took a large stone and placed it between the towns of Mizpah and Jeshanah. He named it Ebenezer (which means “the stone of help”), for he said, “Up to this point the Lord has helped us!” [with emphasis].

For everyone one trusting God for fruitfulness, this season you will experience God’s help in Jesus Name. For those trusting God for the fruit of the womb, you will carry your baby and you will say, God has helped me. Read the rest of this entry

He Is Able

1 Sam.7:8 “Don’t stop pleading with the Lord our God to save us from the Philistines!” they begged Samuel.

Who do you turn to when your back is against the wall? You have been trusting God for financial fruitfulness, then man presents you with options that are clearly not from God. But you say to yourself after all God will use somebody. Read the rest of this entry

Invest

Eccl.11:1 (NCV) “Invest what you have, because after a while you will get a return. Invest what you have in several different businesses… 4 Those who wait for perfect weather will never plant seeds; those who look at every cloud will never harvest crops.”

To Step Up financially means Earn Some, Spend Less, Save More, No Loss and the fifth thing is Invest More. It is common knowledge that inflation beats the interest on savings in most countries. This means if all you are doing is saving money then you are losing money. Read the rest of this entry

No Loss!

Prov. 11:16 (KJV) “A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong men retain riches”

The fourth thing you need to do to Step Up financially is to permit No Loss. Yesterday, we established that the first way to lose money is not to tithe. Second way to lose money is to get robbed. It is possible to be paying your tithe and people are stealing from you. Read the rest of this entry

Create Margin

Deut. 28:12  “The Lord will send rain at the proper time from his rich treasury in the heavens and will bless all the work you do. You will lend to many nations, but you will never need to borrow from them.”

To Step Up financially, the second thing you have to do is Spend Less. The first rule of spending is to always spend less than you earn. I understand that for some people, what they earn is not enough so spending less seems elusive. Read the rest of this entry
