Your Reality
Col.2:14 “He cancelled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross” [with emphasis].
The Holy Spirit has ensured that Jesus’ experiences were documented for you and I to draw strength and encouragement from. When we look at what Jesus went through, we can see clearly that God can dull the smartness of the enemy for our sakes. Read the rest of this entry
Crucified!
Heb.10:26 Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins. 27 There is only the terrible expectation of God’s judgment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies.
Yesterday, we concluded by saying that God did what He did at The Cross for you and outside of you. You had no input in The Cross – none! And this is important because you cannot spoil it. Read the rest of this entry
Complete!
Zec.3:2 “And the Lord said to Satan, “I, the Lord, reject your accusations, Satan. Yes, the Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebukes you. This man is like a burning stick that has been snatched from the fire.”
God has removed all the charges against us and nailed it to The Cross. That alone is something to sit down and ponder about for an entire day. When the enemy brings up charges against you, God is not going to say that you are innocent or that the verdict is not guilty. Read the rest of this entry
Finished Work
Col.2:13 “You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. 14 He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross” [with emphasis].
Yesterday we talked about three kinds of boasts; man’s boast, God’s boast and satan’s boast. Today we will be learning the two ways of escaping satan’s boast. The first way is to not ever sin from the day you were born till the day you die. Read the rest of this entry
In Advance
Heb.12:6 “For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.”
For our relationships to thrive, forgiveness should happen before correction. Forgive means to completely bestow upon in advance. Choose to forgive in advance regardless of what people do. We see that this is the way our heavenly Father operates. Read the rest of this entry
Love’s Comfort
Heb.12:5 “And have you forgotten the encouraging words God spoke to you as his children? He said, “My child, don’t make light of the Lord’s discipline, and don’t give up when he corrects you”
Being at peace with others does not mean keeping peace. Being at peace with others is making peace. There is a huge difference between keeping peace and making peace. Similarly, there is a huge difference between correction and revenge. Read the rest of this entry
Birth Place
Isa.9:6 “For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.7 His government and its peace will never end…”
For you to love someone you have to be humble. You cannot forgive without loving. For you to really forgive someone, you must love from your heart. Also you cannot have peace without forgiveness. For you to have peace, you must forgive.
For-Giving
Matt.5:38 “You have heard the law that says the punishment must match the injury: ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’ 44 But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!” [with emphasis]
The word forgive is a two part word “for” and “give”. “Give” means to bestow upon while “For” primarily means completely. Forgive means to completely bestow upon in advance. To forgive someone of a debt owed is to completely write off the debt. Read the rest of this entry
Distant Relationships
Prov.20:6 “Many will say they are loyal friends, but who can find one who is truly reliable?”
Question 2: The second question you need to wrestle with to move forward is: Is there someone I need to love from a distance? Now, forgiveness is one thing and trust is another. To confuse the two is suicidal. In fact I will advise you to love everyone but trust a few. There will always be some people whose only objective is to drag you back, by injecting negative energy into you. You need to identify such people and love them from a distance. How can you love everyone and trust a few? It is possible. It is folly to think you Read the rest of this entry
Set Free!
Matt.6:14-15 [MSG] “In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can’t get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others. If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God’s part”
Do yourself a favour and forgive for your own sake. I love to see the power of God at work. Some years ago, I met this lady that had shingles all over her body and for a lady that is a major issue. My friends had set up a prayer session for her and so I joined in. As the prayer session was heating up, I heard the Holy Spirit say to me, “Tell her to forgive her father”. So I stopped the prayers and told my friends what I thought God was saying. So we tried to carefully break it to her but as soon as we mentioned her father, it was like a Read the rest of this entry
