At The Roots
“He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” Rom.8:32 [NKJV]
If you check, you will find favour at the root of every rivalry. One person has been favoured above another. So the other person is jealous, bickering and comparing himself with the favoured person. If you cannot stand people being jealous of you, you cannot stand favour. God is going to favour you but you have to be comfortable with people being jealous of you. Get comfortable Read the rest of this entry
His Steps
“But be sure in deciding these matters that you are living as God intended, marrying or not marrying in accordance with God’s direction and help, and accepting whatever situation God has put you into” 1Cor.7:17 [emphasis added].
Truth be told, not everyone will get married. I know it is an unpopular thing to say but it is in the Bible. However, if you desire to get married, you will in Jesus Name. When I read this Scripture some years ago, the first thing I did was to ask God to tell me if He wants me to get married or not. God saw my heart; I was ready to accept whatever He said. You know what God said to me, go and get married. It was almost like He was saying if everybody says they will not get married, you better not try it because you cannot cope. “Bad companions ruin good character.” 1 Cor. 15:33 [GN]
When affairs and illicit sex happen, they happen with three main categories of people. The first category is friends [family friends]. It is well documented that most affairs occur between couples that are friends. Why am I exposing this? It is so that you know what to watch out for and what to guard against. Does it mean you would not have friends? Of course you should have friends. Your friend came to visit with your family, then you leave her at midnight to watch a Read the rest of this entry
Mis-Education
“Above all else, watch over your heart; diligently guard it because from a sincere and pure heart come the good and noble things of life” Prov.4:23 [Voice]
You need to be aware that your resistance to sin can be lowered; so guard against it. When sin is glamorized, our resistance is lowered towards it. So watch the things that your heart desires so that they do not set you against God.
#2. By Implying Everyone Is Doing It: Another way the media breaks down our resistance to sin is by implying that everybody is doing it. And because a lot of people do not want to feel like fish out of water or like the “odd one out”, they Read the rest of this entry
Protect Them
“Your sons born in your youth are a protection, like arrows in the hand of a warrior. Happy is the man who has his quiver full, for they will help and protect him when he is old… for his sons will stand with him against his enemies” Pr. 127:4-5 [Voice]
For two days now we have been learning how to take charge of ourselves, take charge of our minds, and take charge of the content our children are consuming on different media platforms. As parents we are responsible because God has entrusted the lives and the destinies of these children into our hands. Statistics show that in just one year, a typical teenager has been exposed to visual input of fourteen thousand [14000] sexual encounters. In one year, the child will Read the rest of this entry
Watch Out!
“Then He said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions” Luke 12:15 [NIV]
The default mode in conflict situations, even when you are tender hearted, is to be tough and deal with the other person. But each time you go that route, you are going against scriptures and God cannot bless you. Every time I read this portion of Scripture I wish God could have said not offending one another. Would that not have helped us a whole lot more than having to forgive one another? But God did not stop at just forgiving one another, He gave us His method Read the rest of this entry
Key Thoughts III
“So that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises” Heb.6:12
Our concluding thought yesterday was that the fulfillment of every destiny will require several steps of faith. So in order to secure victory and fulfill destiny, you need to turn these destiny destroyers into destiny accelerators. So we start by replacing greed with generosity. Secondly, replace impatience with patience. Patience is a powerful destiny accelerator. People are Read the rest of this entry
Key Thoughts I
“Their purpose is to teach people wisdom and discipline, to help them understand the insights of the wise. Their purpose is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives, to help them do what is right, just, and fair” Prov.1:2-3
There are four key concepts in economics that are pivotal and reveal the human nature. They show us how we make choices and how to relate to the people in our lives. Why? It is because our relationships determine our height. How we relate with the people in our lives determines how far we go. I will explain these four key concepts in economics with an illustration. Economize!
“There is treasure in the house of the godly…” Prov.15:6
A lot of us are familiar with the war in 1991 called Operation Desert Storm. The late Saddam Hussein bragged about it being “the mother of all wars” but it turned out to be the mother of all defeats. The U.S. bombarded Iraq and reduced it to almost nothing. Then they economically sent in allied forces led by the US. By the time the war was over, the allied forces had lost only Read the rest of this entry
Life Lessons
“Otherwise, you might complete only the foundation before running out of money, and then everyone would laugh at you. They would say, ‘There’s the person who started that building and couldn’t afford to finish it!’” Lu.14:29-30
Yesterday, we learnt that the Pyrrhic victory is a victory that inflicts such a devastating blow on the victor that it is tantamount to defeat. Some victories deal more devastating blows to the victors. So the question is, is that argument really important? Is it more important for you to win the argument and lose your spouse? Is it worth it to get that money and lose the trust of Read the rest of this entry
