His Channels I
Prov.3:6 [MSG] “Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, and everywhere you go; He’s the one who will keep you on track.”
When you turn on the radio in your car and tune it, you come across many different stations and many different voices enroute to your desired station. These voices that you hear were not recorded in the radio. Those voices are around you already; your radio just needed to tune in and receive. I am here to tell you that God’s voice is here right now. Read the rest of this entry
All It Takes
Heb.1:1 [TLB] “Long ago God spoke in many different ways to our fathers through the prophets, in visions, dreams, and even face to face, telling them little by little about his plans”
Hearing God should be part of our daily lives. Hearing the voice of God is what separates great people from average people. The extraordinary edge of knowing the mind of God concerning an issue is the differentiating factor between confused people and the people that have the peace of God. I am praying today that you will be in the category of those that have the mind of God and the peace of God, in Jesus Name. It is important that you hear God for yourself. And as you tune-in to God, you will hear God. However, as you tune in, you will discover that there are different channels through which God speaks.
Back in the day, I knew there was a God and that He speaks. I was curious to hear Him speak and so I just look into the sky and say, ‘Let’s make this easy, write it in the skies so I will know what you are saying’. But over the years, I have discovered that like the radio device, you have to tune-in to hear God. God does not want us to be playing games or guessing. Some people say, ‘Lord if it is you, when I step out of the house let two cockerels crow then I will know you want me to marry that man’. Do not risk your life like that.
The story is told of a man who did not want to spend time reading his Bible. He said, ‘God I want you to speak to me. Anything you show me now in the Bible I will do it’. So he opened the Bible and the first passage he saw was, “…and Judas hung himself”. So he closed the Bible and said, ‘This cannot be You, Lord. I am giving You a second chance, so when I open this Bible now, speak to me!’ Then he opened another portion of the Bible and saw, “…go and do likewise”.
God does not want us to be guessing when it comes to hearing from Him. If you are a child of God, you have the Spirit of God and you have all it takes to hear from heaven. You have the machinery in you to hear from God. Every radio comes packaged with everything it requires to pick signals. There are a lot of voices in the air around you; all you need is the right equipment. But if the equipment is available and it is not tuned, is it useful? It is not.
Prayer: Lord, I thank You for equipping me with everything I need to hear You. I declare that as Your child, I will hear Your voice and stay tuned to You alone, in Jesus Name.
Cooperate With God
Luke 8:15 [LB] “…They listen to God’s words and cling to them and steadily spread them to others who also soon believe.” [with emphasis]
Have you made up your mind to consistently hear His voice? If your answer is yes, then you must also settle in your heart that you will obey what He tells you to do. The reason a lot of people do not hear God, is because God knows they will do what they want to do regardless of what He says. Sometimes, folks come to me asking for direction or advice. Positioning
Luke 8:15 [GN] “The seeds that fell in good soil stand for those who hear the message and retain it in a good and obedient heart, and they persist until they bear fruit.” [with emphasis]
For us to tune-in to God, we must cultivate open minds, create time to listen, and eliminate distraction.
#4. The fourth thing we must do to tune-in to God’s voice is, co-operate with what God says. Please get this because it is so powerful. God will always speak to people who Read the rest of this entry
Quiet Time
Luke 8:7 [MSG] “Other seed fell in the weeds; the weeds grew with it and strangled it.” [with emphasis]
To tune-in to God’s voice, the first thing you and I must do is, cultivate an open mind. The second thing we must do is, create time to listen. This cannot be over emphasized.
#3. The third thing we must do to tune-in to God’s voice is, eliminate distractions. Sometimes, even when we have blocked out time to be with God, the constant beeping of Read the rest of this entry
Slow Down!
Luke 8:6 “Other seed fell on shallow soil with underlying rock. This seed began to grow, but soon it withered and died for lack of moisture.” [with emphasis]
#2. If I want to be tuned to God, I must Create Time to Listen. So the first thing to do is, cultivate an open mind and secondly, take time to listen. Slow down and make time to be quiet so that you can hear God speak. Haste is a major hindrance to hearing God. You need to slow down! Unfortunately, we live in a post microwave era, where the microwave Read the rest of this entry
Block II
1 John 4:18 Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.
Actions speak louder than words, they say. So have your actions been voicing your need for God or have they been stating otherwise? The story is told of a little boy who was deeply upset at the fact that at mealtime, his mother would always stop them from eating just to pray. One day after his mother got back from the market, he said, “Mum, let’s Read the rest of this entry
Block I
Luke 8:5 [NIV] “A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds of the air ate it up.” [with emphasis]
Jesus explains Luke 8:5 in Luke 8:12 “Those along the footpath are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes along and takes away the word from their hearts, so they cannot believe and be saved.” In order to hear the voice of God, the first thing we must do is to cultivate an open mind. Just like a closed fist, a closed mind cannot receive Read the rest of this entry
Tune-In!
Luke 8:8 “…Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”
In today’s Scripture reference, Jesus is saying something that is very powerful. Jesus says “Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.” Whoever has a radio to receive, let him tune-in. It is a sad thing to have ears to hear and not hear – to be equipped with everything to hear God consistently and, still not hear or tune-in to God’s frequency. Read the rest of this entry
Fresh Fire
Lu.3: 2 while Annas and Caiaphas were high priests, the word of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness [with emphasis]
Yesterday, I began by telling you how the Holy Spirit used Luke 3:1-2 to ignite a hunger in me for the voice and the Word of the Lord. And today, I am going to show you details of this Scripture that can easily be missed but are essential to life change. Lu.3:1 “Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene, 2 while Annas and Caiaphas were high priests, the word of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness” [with emphasis].
