By Grace
“For God said to Moses, “I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.” So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it.” Rom.9:15-16 [emphasis added]
It is a very special season particularly because we are transitioning into a new year. I strongly believe that by the time we have transitioned into the New Year, God’s favour would have transformed our lives totally. What separates people from the pack is the favour of God and that favour will rest immensely on you. As believers, we are products of grace. Grace is so Read the rest of this entry
With Jesus & With You
“Because you are special to Me and I love you, I gladly give up other peoples in exchange for you; They are trivial by comparison to your weighty significance” Isa.43:4 [Voice]
Man was not the first of God’s creation to rebel against God. Lucifer and a third of the angels turned their back on God. They rebelled against God. But when satan [as he is known now] fell, God did not come to save him. In fact, his judgment awaits him. But when man fell, God came for us. That is love and that is Christmas in a nutshell. Jesus came to save us. So every time a savior Read the rest of this entry
Be Prepared
“…in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor…, and Herod being tetrarch…, and his brother Philip tetrarch…, Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness” Luke 3:1-2
The angel appeared to the shepherds [Luke 2:8-14 please read]. God wants you and I to know that the lack of spiritual status does not disqualify anyone from a spiritual experience or privilege. You cannot say that because you are not a pastor then you cannot find God or hear God. These men were shepherds; they were ordinary people with no status. In fact, in that culture they Read the rest of this entry
The Focus
“But the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David” Luke 2:10-11 [emphasis added]
If we all agree that Jesus came to this world, then, I submit to you that the exact day is not important. In fact, we can celebrate Christmas every day and it will still be relevant! So why would we allow a tradition that started up from a non-Christian background and we would adopt it as a day to celebrate Christ? It is simply because you need to meet the culture where they are Read the rest of this entry
He Is Jesus!
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” Isa.9:6 [KJV]
We can never thank God enough for what Christmas represents to every believer. I pray that the purpose of Christmas will be fulfilled in your Life, in Jesus Name. It is so powerful to go into God’s Presence and to celebrate the reason for life – Christ, the Son of the Living God. Christmas is the reason really for living because of what it signifies. It is because of Christmas that we have Read the rest of this entry
The Tree
“And I, the Son of Man, have come to seek and save those like him who are lost.”’ Lu.19:10
From the story in Luke 19:1-10 [please read], you will see that Zacchaeus and Jesus had one thing in common. Zacchaeus had just come down from a tree and in one week from that day, Jesus was going to be crucified on a tree. So when Jesus moved near that tree, he saw the cross. He saw what He came for and He could not ignore Zacchaeus. How that applies to us is simple. The tree Read the rest of this entry
You Be Jesus!
“Don’t be selfish; don’t live to make a good impression on others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourself… Your attitude should be the kind that was shown us by Jesus Christ, who, though He was God, did not demand and cling to His rights as God…” Phil. 2:3,5-6 [TLB]
God is instructing us to use Jesus as an example of how to be unselfish because the Bible states that “…though He was God, did not demand and cling to His rights as God…”. The story is told of a mother who had two sons- Jason and Jake. Jason was older than Jake. So the mother was making pancakes in the kitchen and as the boys perceived the smell, they came into the kitchen. As boys would do, they sat on the kitchen table waiting for the pancakes. And the mother saw this as a perfect opportunity to teach the boys Read the rest of this entry
Share Jesus
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere…” Acts 1:8
As Christians, it is so important for us to tell other people about Jesus. When I got saved, I could not keep it in. I preached to all my friends and they saw that I was sincerely concerned for their eternity. I am not saying that you should be obnoxious but just open your mouth and tell people who are close to you but far from God, about Jesus. The question is, do you want them to go to hell?
Infinitely Good
“I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord… Be strong, and let your heart take courage; Wait for the Lord.” Psalm 27:13-14 [NAS, emphasis added]
Problems attempt to make us perplexed until we are depressed. #2: When Your Situation Looks DEPRESSING, Think About The Goodness of God. Depression is a signal that our focus is on the wrong things. When discouragement and depression want to set in, it is proof that I have been focusing on the wrong things. Personally, I thank God for the grace to be alert enough to spot traces of discouragement or depression. And as soon as I do, I think clearly about what I have Read the rest of this entry
Death To Life II
“When they came to the oasis of Marah, the water was too bitter to drink… So Moses cried out to the Lord for help, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. Moses threw it into the water, and this made the water good to drink…” Ex.15:23&25.
You need to understand that moving from death to life is not limited only to physical death and physical life. Moving from death to life could be from scarcity to abundance. For some of us, the summation of our financial situation or even our lives has been scarcity. Everything you have had has been scarce. Even when the teachers want to give you grades, they make sure it is scarce. Today, in the Name of Jesus, you Read the rest of this entry
