Death To Life VI

That is why the Holy Spirit says, “Today when you hear His voice don’t harden your hearts…” Heb.3:7-8

From death to life goes beyond moving from slavery to freedom. From death to life also means moving from spiritual death to spiritual life. For some people, the best way to describe their spiritual state is that they are spiritually dead. There are two pointers to spiritual death. If you have any of these two, you are spiritually dead. Death To Life V

“Always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body… So then death is working in us, but life in you2Cor.4:10, 12 [NKJV, emphasis added].

Every parent understands this principle of life. Every good parent knows that they need to sacrifice so that their children can have a great future. Good parents choose to pay the children’s school fees over buying a new bag. Every parent knows that [as it were] death is working in us so that life can come out through our children. In fact, when a mother gives birth in the western part of Nigeria, the Yoruba people say “eku ewu omo” meaning you have just come Read the rest of this entry

Death To Life IV

“When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them” Ps.126:1-2 [KJV]

Yesterday, we learnt that God sometimes will have to shut one door so that He can open a bigger door. Like the example from yesterday, the man is before me trembling as he reels out all his responsibilities. I had to keep myself from laughing but I prayed and I encouraged him. Guess what? This same man just a few months down the line, is so grateful to God that he lost that job because God has shown him His faithfulness. The challenge with a lot of us is that we are too Read the rest of this entry

Death To Life III

“When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them” Ps.126:1-2 [KJV]

Moving from death to life could be from slavery to freedom. Do not be quick to say you are not in slavery. Take note that you are a slave to anything you are doing currently but you wish you could stop doing. But today, you are moving out of slavery, in Jesus Name. For some people, they are slaves to someone that has influence over their lives. For instance a relative and if that relative says sit down, Read the rest of this entry

Big Picture

“Then he asked me, “Son of man, can these bones become living people again?” Eze.37:3 [emphasis added]

Looking at the story of Ezekiel, he was put in a very interesting situation. We have the privilege of reading Ezekiel 37 but Ezekiel did not have the privilege of reading it.  We have seen the whole story and we can tell the dry bones will live. But Ezekiel was right in the middle of the story and that is how some of us feel right now. Just step back from your story and read the whole story, the dry bones will live again. “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you” Rom.8:11 [emphasis added]. Read the rest of this entry

Common To Man

“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you can endure” 1 Cor.10:13

We cannot thank God enough for the gift of His Presence. We thank God for the gift of His Word and all that it is doing in our lives. I pray that in your life and your home, God will do things that eyes have not seen, ears have never heard, and that which man has not even imagined and Jesus alone will be glorified. There is a huge emphasis on what God is doing in this season, so I implore you to stay focused and get the best value. I know that God has a lot in Read the rest of this entry

Ask Balaam

Such is the fate of all who are greedy for money; it robs them of lifeProv.1:19.

God wants us to pay attention to Anger and Hope Deferred because they detune us.

#3. Greed. Greed is a major de-tuner. Greed robs you of life. Greed, like anger and hope deferred, is an express way to a detuned life. Ask the prophet, Balaam. Balaam introduced himself as the one that sees a vision without closing his eyes. What a resume! He was so tuned, accurate and sharp that he did not need to close his eyes to pray, he just sees into the supernatural. But because of greed, Balaam became so Read the rest of this entry

Truth Revealed

“His father said to him, ‘Look, dear son, you have always stayed by me, and everything I have is yours. We had to celebrate this happy day. For your brother was dead and has come back to life! He was lost, but now he is found!” Luke 15:31-32.

You need to understand the truth shown to the older son, “His father said to him, ‘Look, dear son, you have always stayed by me, and everything I have is yours” Luke 15:31. What the father was saying in essence is that, everything I have even the fattened cow that was killed is yours. In other words, your brother pretty much Read the rest of this entry

Sufficient For You

So you have everything when you have Christ, and you are filled with God through your union with Christ. He is the highest Ruler, with authority over every other power” Col.2:10 [TLB].

When you are trusting God for a child and you see people around you dedicating their children, rejoice with them. You are in the right place. Celebrate them, carry their babies, and buy gifts for them. Think of it as a stirring of the waters. Use it to encourage yourself, God will see your faith and it will be a stirring of the water for you. The man at the pool of Read the rest of this entry

No Repentance, No Restoration!

‘Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and make me willing to obey you’ Ps.51:12.

The third reason David almost lost that battle is; restoration without repentance will always lead to regret. Absalom was not repentant at all. He still felt slighted that the king would deal with him the way he did. He didn’t see what he had done wrong. “Amnon raped my sister for crying out loud and I killed him. So bloody what?” No repentance. Leaders take note, when you restore someone that has not repented; you are setting yourself up for trouble. This Read the rest of this entry
