Provoking Favour
Rom.9:15-16 “For God said to Moses, “I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.” So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it” [emphasis added].
Excellence glorifies God and inspires people. In your office, ensure that you are the most skillful because that is your greatest witness as a Christian. Let people say concerning you, “He or she is the most skillful person here.” In business, let your customers say, that organization is the most skillful organization we have encountered. Get an education. It is reckless to think you can replace getting Read the rest of this entry
Favour Magnet
Deut.28:2 [NKJV] “And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God”
What are those things that the Holy Spirit has been prompting you to work on and what are you waiting for? God is prompting you to work on your fitness so that you will be strong, but you are sitting tight and saying “By the grace of God”. Stop giving God a bad name! Do not get me wrong I do believe in miracles but I assure you, this is the secret of greatness right here in the Word of God. Read the rest of this entry
Ten Over Ten
Ecc.9:11 “…The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives….”
Favour will open the door and give you an opportunity but, if you are not strong, fast, skillful, educated and wise, that opportunity will pass by. If you do not work on your speed, your strength, your wisdom, your skill, and your education, you will miss it. However, you will be fast, you will be strong, you will be wise, you will be skillful and you will be educated. So for you to Read the rest of this entry
Capacity
“He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would wonderfully bless me and help me in my work; please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all evil and disaster!” And God granted him his request” 1 Chro.4:10 [TLB]
Favour will open doors for us where nothing else can. But we all still need skill, wisdom, speed, strength, and education. When favour opens the door, it is skill, wisdom, speed, strength, and education that will keep you in the room. For example, a boy gets an all expense paid scholarship to Harvard. That is favour. But you will agree with me that he still needs to read his books, go to Read the rest of this entry
Clarity
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness” 2 Tim.3:16 [NIV]
“I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time” Ecc.9:11 [emphasis added]. Read the rest of this entry
At The Roots
“He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” Rom.8:32 [NKJV]
If you check, you will find favour at the root of every rivalry. One person has been favoured above another. So the other person is jealous, bickering and comparing himself with the favoured person. If you cannot stand people being jealous of you, you cannot stand favour. God is going to favour you but you have to be comfortable with people being jealous of you. Get comfortable Read the rest of this entry
Cost Of Favour
“For God said to Moses, “I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.” So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it.” Rom.9:15-16 [emphasis added]
You will not go very far if you think you have to deserve everything you get. For where God is taking you to, you are going to get things you do not deserve. So do not feel bad or become apologetic. Just thank God for His favour and for giving you what you do not deserve. If you wait to earn everything, you are going to be very slow in this life. God is saying to you, I am going to Read the rest of this entry
By Grace
“For God said to Moses, “I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.” So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it.” Rom.9:15-16 [emphasis added]
It is a very special season particularly because we are transitioning into a new year. I strongly believe that by the time we have transitioned into the New Year, God’s favour would have transformed our lives totally. What separates people from the pack is the favour of God and that favour will rest immensely on you. As believers, we are products of grace. Grace is so Read the rest of this entry
With Jesus & With You
“Because you are special to Me and I love you, I gladly give up other peoples in exchange for you; They are trivial by comparison to your weighty significance” Isa.43:4 [Voice]
Man was not the first of God’s creation to rebel against God. Lucifer and a third of the angels turned their back on God. They rebelled against God. But when satan [as he is known now] fell, God did not come to save him. In fact, his judgment awaits him. But when man fell, God came for us. That is love and that is Christmas in a nutshell. Jesus came to save us. So every time a savior Read the rest of this entry
God Came For Us
“But the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people . The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today” Luke 2:10-11[emphasis added].
Since Christmas is about good news, what then is the good news about Christmas? Is the good news the supernatural birth by a virgin? Or is the good news the fact that there is a lot of feasting in this season? Or is the good news the gifts you have received or are about to receive? What is the good news about Christmas? I will illustrate this with a story. I went to a boarding school in Read the rest of this entry
