If we all agree that Jesus came to this world, then, I submit to you that the exact day is not important. In fact, we can celebrate Christmas every day and it will still be relevant! So why would we allow a tradition that started up from a non-Christian background and we would adopt it as a day to celebrate Christ? Zacchaeus did two things right. The first was that he realized that he needed God. And the second was Zacchaeus went seeking Jesus. You cannot just sit down in your spot; you need to make the move. The Tree

From the story in Luke 19:1-10 [please read], you will see that Zacchaeus and Jesus had one thing in common. Zacchaeus had just come down from a tree and in one week from that day, Jesus was going to be crucified on a tree. So when Jesus moved near that tree, he saw the cross. True Worth
“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it” Eph.2:8-9 [emphasis added]
Many of us are quick to think that Jesus came to make good people better. And while we would admit that we are not where God wants us to be, but in our hearts we believe we are good. And we believe that it is because of that little goodness that Jesus came to help us to be better. I am sorry but that is not why Jesus came.
