Stand!

Isa. 40:8 (NIV) “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”

We spend a lot of energy trying to avoid challenges but we actually should be thanking God for them. Challenges and adversity help us to develop endurance and endurance is a powerful weapon to have in your character arsenal. Read the rest of this entry

Acknowledge Him

1 Thess.5:18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus” [with emphasis].

The root word for “be thankful” or “give thanks” in this scripture, means gratitude, appreciation, praise, and recognition. God is saying, be grateful, show appreciation, give praise, show acknowledgment, and recognition in all things and not for all things. Read the rest of this entry

The God Kind

Luke 7:47“I tell you, her sins—and they are many—have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.”

Redefined!

Luke 18:22 “…he said, “There is still one thing you haven’t done. Sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” 23 But when the man heard this he became very sad, for he was very rich.”

In other words, Jesus was saying do not just stop at giving up everything alone, go beyond, and give yourself to serving too. Follow me in my itinerant ministry. But when the man heard this he became very sad because he was very rich.

Differentiator

Matt.7:24 “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. 25 Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.”

It is the storms and not wealth that is the differentiator in life. The storm is what reveals you to you. And that is why sometimes, God will allow us to experience storms so that we can identify the areas in our lives that are built on sand and not on the rock. Read the rest of this entry

God’s Order

Matt.5: 27 “You have heard the commandment that says, ‘You must not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart” [with emphasis].

The world is putting a lot of people under pressure to ascertain “compatibility” before marriage. And the test for compatibility is the joining of bodies outside of marriage.

Keep Your Word

Luke 16:10 “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.”

The battle with purity is actually a battle with decision-making. You need to be able to keep your words in the little promises such as – I will see you tomorrow by ten o’clock, I will bring groceries home, I will take out the trash and it will be done on time. Read the rest of this entry
