Just Because

Luke 10:20 “But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven” [with emphasis].

Is your name registered in heaven? Jesus says that the most important thing is that your name and my name are registered in heaven. I like the word registered and it suggests that there is a registration process. You just do not show up in Heaven just like that. Your name has to be registered in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Your name has to be registered in heaven.

The Apparatus

Phil.4:19 “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus”

God says, “Arise and shine for your light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you” [Isa.60:1]. When does light shine brightest? It is in darkness and you need to embrace this. Yesterday, we explained that God does not check the exchange rate to bless His children. And it is because the blessings of the Lord are from His own store houses and not from the Federal reserve. Some people may say to you to face reality but the reality is that they that know their God shall be strong and they shall do exploits.
Joy causes a release of the supernatural in your favour. Joy is like a conduit; it is a carrier of the supernatural. It is almost impossible to walk in the supernatural and be in Read the rest of this entry

Joy Unstoppable

John 15:10 “When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love”

God says rejoice but you have to choose to rejoice. There are two dimensions to this command – there is the prophetic dimension and there is the instructional dimension.
The Instructional Dimension: I have discovered that there is nothing better than rejoicing. There is nothing stronger than joy. In fact, joy is such a strong force. It is unstoppable. God is giving you a life- long instruction and that is to rejoice – it is a command. When people question your rejoicing, tell them you are obeying God because God has commanded you to rejoice.

Rejoice Still

Psa. 118:24 “This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it”.

At the beginning of the year 2016, God gave us a Word – Rejoice. You and I must never forget this instruction because the Word of God is cumulative and we are on a journey with God. From establishment, to bloom, to victory and then rejoice; the beauty of it all is that God is still speaking and His Words will accomplish His desire in our lives, in Jesus Name. And because we are still in the season of rejoicing and rejoicing will never cease from our homes, we must understand a few things.

Your Focus

Luke 1: 46 “Mary: My soul lifts up the Lord! 47 My spirit celebrates God, my Liberator! 48 For though I’m God’s humble servant, God has noticed me. Now and forever, I will be considered blessed by all generations” [Voice].

The closing thought from yesterday’s devotion was that Mary’s response to what will scare most of us was to praise God. Mary is teaching us that when you do not know what to do and the situation looks hopeless, look up – lift up your eyes. God, your salvation is here. Sometimes people are unable to relate with the characters in the Bible. So I will share a true story with you today so you will know that it is possible to rejoice even in uncertain situations.

Antidote II

Ps. 27:10Even if my mother and father forsake me, the Lord will receive me.”

Most times, people that struggle with the pain of rejection, particularly from people they are most vulnerable to, start to think there is something wrong with them. If you are in this category then this message is for you. I am here to tell you that there is nothing wrong with you but something is wrong with them. It is possible that you have spent years trying to get your father’s approval. I am here to tell Read the rest of this entry

Settle It!

Ps. 119:39-42 “Save me from the insults I fear . . . I want to obey Your commands . . . . Show me how much You love me, Lord.  Then I can answer those who insult me.” [GN, with emphasis]

The Psalmist here is saying if God loves me, I can handle anything and anyone. The Psalmist was being vulnerable to God and owning up his struggles with approval addiction and the opinions of men. He was admitting that deep down he is afraid of what people really think. But he is saying, Lord if you will show me how much you love me all that will mean nothing. A major key to a wholesome life is being secure in God’s love.

Fruitful

Gen.1:27 “…In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. 28 Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals….”

God has released the power for fruitfulness upon us all. Believe it, receive it and walk in the fullness of it, in Jesus Name. For someone reading this today, your story up until today has been that when something new springs forth in your life, you have a regular dream of contention and the thing just fades away. God, your Father, is going to cut off the head of your contender, in Jesus Name. People close to you will sleep and not wake up; just let them go.

Behold…

Genesis 29: 25 “But when Jacob woke up in the morning—it was Leah! “What have you done to me?” Jacob raged at Laban. “I worked seven years for Rachel! Why have you tricked me?”

If you put the weight of your deepest desire on any human being, you are going to crush them. I do not care how big your husband’s biceps are or how talented your wife is, if you put the weight of your deepest desire on him or her, you are going to crush them. The reason this will happen is because they cannot carry the weight and you will be left disappointed. The times that I have been unhappy are the times I expected a human being to fill my tank. Subconsciously, I shifted my gaze from looking to God to fill my tank, to Read the rest of this entry

Stolen Bread

Prov.20:17Stolen bread tastes sweet, but it turns to gravel in the mouth[with emphasis]

There are certain things that you would naturally be drawn to but are not good for you. There are certain kinds of food that you really enjoy but are actually not good for you. In fact, some can actually kill you. Sugar for instance, no matter how much of a sweet tooth you have, the fact is that sugar can kill you. So the fact that it tastes good to you does not mean that it is good for you. The fact that sex is enjoyable does not mean it is good for you outside of God. Some people will argue that why did God make it so good. Again I say, the Read the rest of this entry
