Potent
James 5:16 “…The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].” (AMP-C)
Prayer offers the channel and power to unleash the weapons God has made available to us in spiritual warfare. Prayer makes tremendous power available, that is dynamic in its working. We need to do all things by prayer. Read the rest of this entry
The People II
Matt.2: 2 “saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”
#2. The Scholars. They are religious people and they know the Bible. In fact, when Herod called the scribe to inquire about where the Christ will be born, he did not even need to look at the Bible.
Hear No Falsehood
Jer.29:8 “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: “Do not let your prophets and fortune-tellers who are with you in the land of Babylon trick you. Do not listen to their dreams, 9 because they are telling you lies in my name. I have not sent them…”
Do not allow people tell you what is not God’s will. Do not allow people tingle your ears with things that are contrary to what God has said. No matter how nice it sounds, do not listen to them.
Phase II
Ex.20:12 “Honour your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.”
Yesterday, we established that the command, “honour your father and mother” translates to different things in different phases of life. Honour your father and mother to children simply means, do what they ask of you.
Get Wisdom
Prov.1:5 [ERV] “Even the wise could become wiser by listening… They gain understanding and learn to solve difficult problems. 7 Knowledge begins with fear and respect for the Lord, but stubborn fools hate wisdom and refuse to learn.”
C. S. Lewis in his book, The Screwtape Letters described the concept of “My”. He explained how we misuse or are misled by the concept of “My.” Read the rest of this entry
Worship
Ex.20:4 “You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. 5 You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God…” [with emphasis]
The second commandment is, “You shall not make idols”, and it is The Battle with Worship. Over the next couple of days, we will be looking closely at the second commandment- our struggle with worship. Read the rest of this entry
His Personn
1 Cor.2:16 “For, “Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.”
God says you have the mind of Christ. You have to be aware that you have it in the first place before you can operate in it and unleash it. And now that you know what God says about you, unleash the mind of Christ in your home and in your business. Do you know what God is thinking about you right now? I am not saying you should guess. You need to be aware that you have access to His thinking. So let this stir up in you a burning desire to unleash the mind of Christ that you have.
The Answer!
Matt. 9:29 “According to your faith it will be done to you.”
The sixth R in banishing the fear of failure is to Replace Fear With Faith in Christ. You and I must replace our fears with faith in Christ. Why? “According to your faith it will be done to you.” You can program yourself for faith in God or the fear of failure. It is your choice. Instead of being driven by the fear of failing, you should be driven by the faith to succeed. Instead of being faith-driven success seekers, a lot of people are fear-driven failure avoiders.
First Thing
Ezra 3:10 When the builders completed the foundation of the Lord’s Temple, the priests put on their robes and took their places to blow their trumpets. And the Levites, descendants of Asaph, clashed their cymbals to praise the Lord….” [emphasis added]
Ezra 3:11 With praise and thanks, they sang this song to the Lord: “He is so good! His faithful love for Israel endures forever!” Then all the people gave a great shout, praising the Lord because the foundation of the Lord’s Temple had been laid. 12 But many of the older priests, Levites, and other leaders who had seen the first Temple wept aloud when they saw the new Temple’s foundation. The others, however, were shouting for joy. 13 The joyful shouting and weeping mingled together in a loud noise that could be heard far in the distance. [emphasis added] Read the rest of this entry
Leadership
Deut.11:18 “So commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these words of mine. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. 19 Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road…”
Our lesson today is from the life of Samuel, Hannah’s son. Hannah had a deal with God; He would give her a son and she will give the son back to God to serve God. And that was exactly what happened. God gave her Samuel and immediately she weaned him, she dedicated him to God and dropped him off at the temple. You can imagine how young the boy was but she actually left him in the temple with Eli. She would visit him from time to time to give him new clothes. When you dedicate your children to God, believe that Read the rest of this entry
